How are complaints handled?
Good evening all. Hope everyone's doing well in the Fog today.
Been playing killer at rank 2 (God help me) and just finished a match where a nasty survivor decided to tell me what he thinks of me. I'll spare the MANY insults but I reported him using the in-game function as well as opening a ticket with screen shots of his tasteful words.
My question is how are reports like this handled and how swiftly? I can't imagine I'll wake up and he'll be banned because let's be honest, the devs probably have a million and one complaints to deal with an hour. But assuming what they've done is ban worthy (Trust me what he said is) how long is it and can you get perma banned?
Killer at this rank is stressful enough. Adding death threats, derogatory terms, etc because you lost is the main reason IMO no one wants to play as killer anymore.

I don't believe they actually are. I've submitted a number of reports of cheating, survivors working with killer, etc, etc. I've gone through the steps of making the report in end-game, and filing a report on their web-portal, and even supplying video evidence of the issue in question.
You get the generic response back, "blah blah blah, we're looking into it, blah blah blah, we can't tell you the outcome, blah blah blah". But I know nothing will happen... because any time I supplied a video demonstrating/proving the issue, those videos have sat at zero views. If no-one even bothered to click the link and look, then what's the likelihood they went ahead and did something.
So, I've completely lost faith that the devs will actually do anything. They'll just tell you they will to keep you happy. And it's no wonder toxicity keeps growing.
But hey, new cosmetics...oooh, shiny. Now we're distracted again and will keep parting money for that new costume whilst the same bugs and problems are still in the game and left unresolved.

I hope that's not the case. People need to realize being super toxic is a garbage way to play a game. Like I leave my profile open so people can comment and give me salt because I don't care more often than not.
However, if you're telling people to get cancer or kill themself then you should be removed from whatever game permanently. There should be a zero tolerance for stuff like that.

Yeah they aren't handled at all they jusy sit around not doing crap but forum mods will ban you for any reason even if cause they just don't like you

So pretty much politically biased people will do anything to get rid of you

@SirCipher The reports are forwarded to the ACM's for investigation, they will review the chat logs and decide what action to take...that could be a temporary ban or a permanent ban depending on the circumstances (previous temp bans etc).
All reports are looked at and dealt with and action is taken on them providing that something bannable has actually occurred and there is sufficient evidence. You do not receive notification of what action was taken though.

I get that whole "You don't get to know what we did" thing. But do you guys even send a "Hey we did something" to people, just for piece of mind?

@DetectiveBingBong sadly no, whilst I would love to see a way where you know your report was acknowledged, we don't currently have a system for this. It might be something that's changed in the future but I don't think it's high on the priorities list at the present time.

What could be a higher priority than the peace of mind of the people who send in the reports, though? The effect of knowing that their outcry was heard would surely lead to better relations between the community and the company. As it is, BHVR is losing the faith of the people, at least from what it seems.

Still proving how unprofessional y'all are

Thats understandable though. only in the past few years has acknowledging that reports youve given have been acted upon has become standard. Smaller dev team means it will take more time than juggernauts like Microsoft and Sony who have systems like this in place.

@MandyTalk Oh okay awesome. Kinda sad I'll never know if they got a punishment but as long as they are actively being looked into then that's alright with me.
Are you able to tell me or link to a page where it lists bannable offenses? I'd like to know just for future reference.
Thanks all for the replies!

Are legal issues preventing you guys from telling the reporter what happened? Or simply not implement? Would be great to know when a cheater is banned or not

And what profession do you exactly have? Other than sitting behind a screen personally insulting Developers may I add.

I'm not sure if there even could be a legal issue. Maybe from telling the reporter exactly what happened?
It would be nice tho to have an email just stating "Yes, we have received your complaint and yes something has been done".
I feel as tho their entire report system could use an overhaul more in favor of the reporter. But as I stated above as long as they're handled then I'm happy. Them letting us know would just be a bonus IMO.

I really would like to have the bonus tho, I have a full txt file of steam profiles who were obviously cheating but I can't keep track of who got banned or not

Oh yeah would probably do the same but I never pay attention who joined my lobby but you are doing good work :)

You give the Toxic you get the Mori. After I get who ever was being a jerk I'll typically let the others go.
Had a toxic 3 man swf the other day who complained about my "Meta" perks on hag (Who I rarely play anymore) and wishing oh so lovely things upon me. Got them again in my next lobby. Mori'd 2 with the 3rd DCing and I let the solo guy so. I'm mean, but I'm not Evil lol.
