NOED
Yes, yes, I know. Another NOED thread? What a surprise! Either way, I am making this thread to list some things about NOED and I want to know what everybody's thoughts are! Some of the things I will list are potential changes, either major or minor, or simply keeping NOED the way it is. I want everyone to tell me which number they believe is best and to explain why. Please keep this civil and respectful, keep away from "brainless survivor mains always wanting nerfs" or "survivors get all their OP perks". I want constructive comments to explain ACTUAL reasons on why they believe that is without just blatantly insulting the other side. You can believe all the stuff that I said in quotations, but please make sure to get it across in a constructive manner.
- One of the most common suggestions is to tie a totem number counter to a perk like Small Game. Of course, this would make the perk a lot more viable than it currently is, which would be nice to change up some perks.
- The same suggestion as number one, but instead of tying a number counter to a perk the number counter will be a base GUI such as the generator counter that every survivor gets. This would mean that survivors wouldn't have to run a certain perk to know how efficiently their teammates and they are doing totems.
- I haven't seen this suggestion as much but I believe it is pretty interesting, a sound queue whenever a totem is cleansed. Possibly just a simple loud "ding" whenever a totem is cleansed that every single survivor and killer can hear. This allows for alert survivors and killers to know what is going on and how many totems are left, while anybody who wasn't actively paying attention may waste time going around to find totems that have actually already been cleansed. This helps out the players who are actually alert and punishes the players who miss it. You heard five dings throughout the game? Every single totem was cleansed. It's a hidden number counter that isn't as brainless as a GUI.
- Just simply nerfing some numbers of NOED, like decreasing the movement speed but keeping the instadown. We all know how much of a buff an extra 4% movement speed is.
- Just down right nerfing everything about NOED, removing the instadown and everything. Hell, just remove it from the game!
- Keep NOED the way it is right now, change nothing about the game. No number counter, no sound queue, no nothing.
Now, I know the first three suggestions aren't directly related to NOED but I believe we all know what a totem number counter would be for. It's a direct nerf to NOED most of all.
Personally, I would go for either 2 or 3. I believe NOED is fine the way it is but solo queue survivors have absolutely no idea how many totems have been cleansed. This would mean that all five could be cleansed but survivors may be going around wasting time trying to find an already-cleansed totems, or they believe that all of them are cleansed and there was one cheeky totem that stayed up. I understand that some people may not like 2 entirely, so I'm leaning a bit more towards 3. It honestly depends on what kind of sound queue the devs would be implementing.
Let me know your thoughts on what you think should be added! Of course, if you have any other ideas then feel free to list them below!
y'know I'm just hoping that plenty of people even look at this and comment so that I didn't just waste 30 minutes typing this all out for nothing lol
