Killer Attack(s) Not Working
Platform: PC
This is my first time posting anything on the forum, so I apologies if I messed something up. Anyway, I am encountering a very frustrating issue where when I go to attack as the killer, nothing happens, and I must spam hit my mouse to get it to work. It happens randomly and mostly with basic attacks (M1), but I have had it happen with secondary attacks too (M2). I've looked online for solutions, but most reports of similar issues are very old and they don't seems to work for me anyway. It is frustrating that I lose so many chases because I end up just shadowing my would-be victim. It happens every other game and completely randomly.
If anyone has a fix for this irritating issue, I would appreciate it.

I had the same problem a while ago, its actually something to do wih your screen resolution. Most people say you need to make your screen resolution to 125%, but you will end up with a ######### resolution for the icons. I've resolved my problem with this:

What does this do exactly? I tried this suggestion and why’ll it seems to have worked, I’m now experiencing a large amount of frame drops.

I guess this method sets the game to scale to the best resolution possible, thats why it makes your frames drop. I have a good setup so I didnt even noticed it when I used this.
If you want another solution, you need to put your resolution scale to 100%. But the text will be very small with this. It's a common problem since 2016 and they haven't figured out how to fix it.

Thank-you for the advice. Upon further research into this issue, I found that that many people in the past have had similar issues to this one due to DbD not being able to run/adjust to 4K displays or something. After changing my display settings from 4K to 2K, I found that DbD ran smoothly and (as of yet) without issue.
For now, this solves my issue of the M1 and M2 inputs not working, but I wish I didn’t have to change my display settings every time I wished to play DbD. Hopefully in the future this will be fixed.
