PH is probably the worst licensed character in the game
Terrible ranged option thats telegraphed? Check
Terrible power which denies the only good gen regression perks? Check
Tormented means nothing when the cages are useless.
And since he cant even see cages anymore, hes trash. The cage moving thing makes sense, but removing his ability to see cages? Hes got a cool p3 skin, but thats it.

Pig says hi
12 -
Pig is way way better.
3 -
idk at least Pig can get kills off of her power sometimes. PH just feels like an m1 killer that can drag trails places. Do they do much? No. If they slowed survivors they might be useful but right now it's virtually just for the fantasy of using PH. No real benefit gained until Final Judgement.

Ghostface comes outta nowhere. Like ghostface is crap hes like bootleg micheal myers well in dbd and plus when im survivor and get matched with and ghostface he never stalks.
1 -
Id say ghostface is the worst licensed killer.
2 -
You can't see cages to go straight there instead of patrolling gens= Worst licensed killer
31 -
Nah he’s awesome. Worst licensed killer is definitely Bubba, current version not counting PTB.
5 -
I don't see how anyone thinks PH is bad, he's especially good at pallets and vaults that aren't immediately after a sharp turn. I guess it's better people think he's bad, that way he gets buffed like Bubba someday.
14 -
So, we're ignoring release Bubba and pre-rework Freddy are we?
Also, PH doesn't have add-ons that literally harm him, can shut off common survivor strats, such as flashlights or abusing DS and BT and has general map detection. And a ranged attack.
Pig doesn't.
Also, the licensed characters are still better than half the roster.
5 -
It's an extremely telegraphed and easy to dodge due to the wave like motion of it ranged attack. That's all he has besides cages/quick mori. Cages most of the time aren't beneficial or actively hurt your pressure. The Mori part is amazing no complaints there, I often just wait for it instead of cage.
My first impressions of PH were a hybrid trap/range killer. Turns out he's just a zone m1 character. Not what I wanted or expected.

I don’t think any of the licensed killers are bad (except current Bubba but he is getting changed).
Even though Bubba is getting changes, I still feel like he is the weak link of all the licensed killers.
This is my personal tier list of licensed killers.
- Freddy
- Myers
- Ghostface
- Pyramid Head
- Demogorgon
- Pig
- Bubba

I always went to the cage to lay a trench, and then left. Camping and tunnelling is boring and does not net me BP. BP rn is everything. Ima tryna get P3 Clown.
0 -
Damn if he's the worst guess I must just be some god or smth killing people
3 -
HA!
2 -
LOL. Youre joking, right?
5 -
Ghostface doesn't need to stalk you. His stealth power is the best ambushing ability in the game since you move at full speed while in stealth and have no delay before you can attack. The stalk is a useful extra ability on top of that, but isn't where his power comes from.
7 -
That's debatable
0 -
What part is debatable
0 -
His ranged attack is basically a free hit at many many windows in this game, pallets need to be dropped pretty early and EVEN THEN unlike freddy you can STILL get a hit off, it's just a matter of who guesses right if PH is baiting or actually going for it.
Sure he lacks map pressure but that problem in itself will be fixed once devs get down to reworking more of the problematic maps to a more managable size.
1 -
Not every killer should have map pressure
2 -
I see.
Carry on then
2 -
If he plants the knife, fake the vault and gain a ton of distance. His range attack only has one thing going for it, a mindgame. Thats it.
0 -
Uh what....do you want them to camp survivors to death or count on survivors three-genning themselves or what is the plan then?
6 -
except even fast vaults are slow enough that you can just wait out till he vaults, if he doesnt vault its a free m1 unless you get 360d of course. I never use punishment on survivors running towards a window unless they are already vaulting, the only case in which I'll miss is because his m2 is really awkward to use.
2 -
??? I think you play him wrong.
To me he lets survivor decide how they wanna die, either by m1 or m2 since they are locked in animation by throwing the pallet or vaulting. Cages are not useless at all like #########? You can send somebody to the other side of the map, where all gens are already done without the need to pick them up and so on it is your decision and not just always use cage because you can.
He however struggles like all killers on map pressure, so making the right decisions is important.
5 -
His M2 is awful. A perfectly straight line is never useful in a realistic chase scenario. Its still too slow to react to a vault. You have to anticipate it.
1 -
PH is like Doctor tier, which is a very solid tier to be at. Very very good chasing tool and zoning but lacking in map pressure. Being able to see cages only mattered to campers/tunnelers. Removing the cage auras for him made no difference to PH players who utilized his cages for map pressure(sending survs away if all other survs are near, caging them when in slugging situations, etc.) and were good with his ranged attack.
He was strong without needing to camp/tunnel and the change had no affect on his power.
Ghostface is one of the higher tier Killers. As a GF main, I find myself not stalking much cause most competent players will quickly spot me and break me out of stealth.
I stalk when I can but any Survivor with any sense of awareness of their surroundings are hard to get the jump on. Not to mention that spine chills is seeing a rise in usage.
His real power comes in being able to ambush people and winning mindgames with his stealth.
My personal licensed killer tier list would be...
- Freddy - Can TP across the map to gens. With the right information perks(BBQ, Thrilling, Discordance, etc), this can make him very oppressive. Also got built-in game speed regression with his sleep and very good anti-looping with his snares/pallets. He's not crazy powerful like Nurse/Spirit but he's got a very rounded out kit that's very strong in the right hands.
- Pyramid Head - One of the strongest anti-loopers in the game with his ranged attack. Can deny hook perks like DS/Borrowed Time/etc. with his cages. Cages also allow for removing hook stages when you are in a slugging situation. Can force 3 gens with his cages real well. Lacks mobility to apply pressure without cages though.
- Ghostface - Nightshroud allows him to easily sneak up and get quick hits on survivors. Also allows him to easily win chases with his hidden red stain and TR. Crouching allows for even more mindgames. With double power cooldown add-ons, you pretty much always have your shroud up for when you need it. No mobility for map pressure though. Pressure comes from survivors being injured and needing to be wary of surroundings.
- Myers - Can quickly snowball with EW3 if he catches the survivors out of position. He loses valuable game time needing to stalk though.
- Demogorgon - Decent map pressure with his noodle portals. Decent chasing tool with his shred. He's loud as ######### though. Obvious tells with his moves. Can hear if he's in a chase, or moving through tunnels, or just stomping around nearby.
- Pig - Head traps for slowing down game speed. Very RNG reliant. Less reliable stealth than GF.
- Bubba - Is Bubba. Only good for camping. Maybe with the changes he'll move up. We'll see.
3 -
My personal license tiering would be
1. Freddy
2. Ghostface.
3. Rework Bubba
4. Myers
5. Demo
6. Pig
7. Pyramid Head.

are we playing a different game? I brutally suck with every killer that cannot combat vaults up to the point where I need freddy or bamboozle. Yet with PH it's very rare that I get outplayed by a window looper. Just pre-use your M2 when you're right about to see a window or pallet, it slows you down to 110% so just use it similar to a huntress, don't use it when the survivor is already vaulting then it's too late. Only use the ACTUAL punishment when he's actually vaulting. it will always hit if you aim for the window even if you're not straight behind him.
A survivor can run my bubba on shack till the window blocks off, no survivor so far has been able to do that against PH, not even guys with 8000+ hours in this game who manage to 360 the ######### out of me twice in a match to a point where I completely lose them so it's not like those guys were total scrubs, it's just that hitting people at windows with PH is a breeze and if they fake them you just go for the m1 since your recovery time is really low.
1 -
4 survivors, 8 second chance perks, 12 total hook states, 5 out of 7 gens must be done, 10 or so safe pallets per map, 32m of advance notice the killer is coming, and comms telling the others where you are at all times. Yes, patrolling gens will get you the 4k every time, nothing to see here.
2 -
What does that have to so with me thinking every killer needs map.pressure?

Someone lost as PH
3 -
No. I just destroyed about 3 PHs in a row at rank two. And they were ranks five and one.

Keeping pallets on the map is a VERY bad idea for most Killers. So most players simply kick them as soon as possible without thinking about ever keeping them. I think it is safe to assume this is the communication problem as that guy isn't using DOWNED pallets as bait and is assuming you are talking of using STANDING pallets as bait.
Only Nurse, Hag, and Huntress are able to make use of downed pallets. Nurse simply ignores them, Hag can trap either side, and Huntress can throw over them. Any other Killer has to remove downed pallets or else find that loop near to if not full impossible to run. Add that to how few people use Nurse, Hag, or Huntress from their skill requirements and it shouldn't be hard to figure out that almost no one ever thinks of pallets being a Killer resource.
Exe can be added to that list as he is fully able to turn pallets in his favor. Prep M2 when you know someone is running towards a pallet/window and it should be a certain hit. You either land the M2 if they commit (can be done blind by hearing the vault) or the Survivor opens themselves for a M1. Win/Win, with the added boost of leaving trail blobs around the map for possible torment/cages down the line.

tbh it's still good to kick pallets but I mostly do so after the chase has already been done and I have the time for it. If there's no pallets then there's no outplay potential for the survivor in the first place but yeah, especially as pyramidhead you can either try to get a hit on a vaulting survivor or try to hit them through the loop, many will back off so they don't get hit randomly which is the time that you can use to close in on them by faking another m2 which you won't actually press.
There's some intricacies to playing PH which people don't give credit for. Also you can hit corner-pallets that are undropped with PH because he has a slight flick (around 30 degrees) but im still very unsure on how to actually use it reliably.
0 -
The only reason I play PH is to play PH. Otherwise he is a weak killer. But that's what behaviour wants, they dont want people claiming he's 'ptw'.
3 -
The hell you on?
Ghostface is the best stealth killer
1 -
I actually like PH. I mostly just use his ranged attack when survivors are either stuck in a vault animation or at a spot too narrow to dodge left or right, such as at pallet spawns. You just put down the sword to challenge a window, and if they DONT vault it...M1 them.
1 -
You sir may be on to something. If we act like all the killers suck the devs might stop nerfing them. They only rework them if they feel they are doing well :P
1 -
I quite like him. Just had some way to port to one of his torment paths every 40 seconds to get across the map and he'd be perfect. Walking across a giant map is painful.
0 -
Not true, look at Legion.
0 -
His gameplay is already very similar to Demogorgon's. You use his ranged attack to challenge vaults and pallets like Demogorgon can, just better.
3 -
PH doesn't have much map pressure, but in a chase he's similar to a lot of the other 50/50 killers like deathslinger, spirit, etc. in that he can put you in all types of ######### up situations:
- Drag sword in ground.. vault or drop pallet? Rites of sadness up the bum.
- Fake sword drag = get hit anyway.
This ######### is crazy obnoxious to deal with. The only real consistent counter I've found against PH is mind gaming him at certain tiles for distance + abusing elevated terrain. Traditional loops don't work too well on him - see above reasons.

Killers that don’t have gen pressure are bad apparently. With that logic that means Demogorgon is S tier loool
0 -
Seems like you forgot piggy was in this game.
0 -
Nah he's deadly. He can threaten pallets so easily. I'm not gonna say he's top tier, but he's definitely lethal and I wouldn't call him the worst licensed character by far.
1 -
Ghostface can mindgame a lot if he crouches, and his power allow him to get a easy hit
0 -
@LordGlint I agree but Ormand and Mother's Dwelling is a nightmare. Almost impossible to make it to the other side of the map without a gen popping. I feel all killers should have some sort of side power to port every 40-50 seconds to actually have an easier time to stop gens. That or reduce the map sizes.
0 -
They HAVE been actively working on the maps and afew of them have even been shrunk down recently. I know generally whether they want to or not...survivors end up clumping together. You always end up having SOMEONE go for hooksaves meaning theres always times where you can find at least 2 survivors together. Apart from that, you also dont need to protect gens on the opposite corners of the map. While I'm not saying to let them have gens for free, this is why its a good idea to prioritize keeping an eye on middle gens as opposed to corner gens.
