Pig Bug or Bad Timing?

I can't fully replicate this since it'll most likely depend on timing I'm assuming but I played a game as Pig and As I put a head-trap on a survivor the Gen popped but the trap never fully counted down so the survivor never died and was also able to leave the trial although the trap was 'active'. The gen that popped also wasn't the last gen and other gens popped afterwards.
My assumption is that the gen popped at a time that triggered the traps active state but never fully activated it and thus other gens couldn't activate it as it was already active but the exit read it as inactive as it wasn't counting down.
Has anybody else experienced this?
P.S this was on PS4, but i would assume it could work on any of the platforms.
