Baiting a teammate's death for 10mins to use the hatch

What do ya'll think about that?

I just had a match against The Plague in solo queue. The killers wasn't that good and game went quite well, however two survs somehow seemed to think they didn't need to play a little more carefully (or their sprint button was stuck) and they got themselves killed. I had done ALL the gens until the last one. So it was me and the other random, one gen left, things looking quite well apart from our mates deaths. I didn't know where my mate was, so I started doing the gens and hid whenever she'd come near. She would kick them but not vomit on them, so I came pretty. She didn't find me several times; found me twice but I managed to get away healthily. My "main" gen was at 50%+ several times. I didn't see the mate once. Whenever I walked around I noticed the only ones touching the gens were The Plague and me. Of course I had found the hatch during one of the chases. Eventually she got me and I died, and what do I see? The random camping on the hatch waiting for me to die. He didn't escape, cause the Plague had seen the hatch too and was faster closing it.

Well, imo it's one thing to wait near the hatch when it's clear that only one will survive when 2 survs are last, but this game would've been easily winnable if he just hadn't spent TEN MINUTES doing nothing, waiting for me to die.

We were all red ranks. I can't understand how someone is able to do that. I'm not expecting others to put their life at risk no matter what, but again, I got the gen far by myself, the killer wasn't good, we couldve won if we just both committed to our objectives.

I'm fairly new to the game, and I've seen this happening to friends, but it has never happened to me. Is that an accepted behaviour in this community??? Because mind you, imo this is way more toxic and egoistic than clicking, teabagging survs or tunneling killers. It's selling out the team for one's own pleasure and I don't get why someone like that would want to play a teamplay based game.

I pm'ed the guy on PSN, told him I knew what he had done, that I knew he hadn't touched a single gen a single time, asked why he let me alone and why he's playing the game anyway and yes, also the word "#########" dropped, for the first time in my life I insulted someone via messages. Of course, the only thing they had to say was "reported ;)".

Sorry for the long post. My question is: does this community accept that kind of behaviour in a situation where the game isn't decided yet whatsoever and can easily be winnable by just decent teamplay??

it's the curse of every multiplayer game. you will always have people like that out to pamper their ego by 'winning' by changing the rules to say 'they cannot lose'.

it's obnoxious as anything, and just watch them pop a vein if you manage to communicate to the killer what they are doing and the killer sides with you and whoops their behind.

BTW I'm new too. About 6 weeks if that?

You are expecting to have teammates? Stop right there. You are entering delusional realms and will make yourself crazy.

In this game I am finding more and more that the killer is not your enemy - your teammates are. Isn't that sad?

Your scenario has happened to me more than once and it's unfortunate, but it is part of the game play. So I accept it.

Honestly, don't waste your breath in with people like that in chat.

I go into games now and I try to get a sense or the team. (It's get easier as time goes.)

I have teammates who won't get off gens to heal others, who will work with the killer against the team and literally out you on purpose in various ways. Eg: Pointing where you are hiding, blocking so you can't move, following you around making as much noise as possible and creating such a spectacle that there is no way the killer won't find you etc etc.

I'm at the point now where if one of my teammates comes near me during a game - I try to get away from them almost as much as I do the killer!

    I wish I was kidding. I'm not.

    :-(

Honestly, the higher in rank, the more toxic people seem to get. On lower ranks the most toxic ones are those that want to rise quickly, the others are fine and sometimes magnificent goofballs.

I think it's time for a casual mode (basically public custom matches without the possibility to unlock all perks as such). sure you'd still have some toxic folks, but probably not as many

This game is already casual mode lmao we need a ranked mode.

in all seriousness, we need a better ranking system (i think we all agree there)

The max rank difference should be 3, not 6, not go into a new color, and only be based on the killer's rank. if you ask me.

maybe split the ranks into emblem ranks. I mean, i dunno how i got to rank 16 with survivor and killer, because frankly, I'm a mess. I'd prolly have an overall gold or even iridescent emblem from damaging gens as killer or healing people as survivor, but nothing to justify being rank 16.

And I think reworking the ranking system to account more for one's strengths should work out.

Afk crows could work a little better

If you haven't touched a gen/totem, healed or been in the killers terror radius for a minute they should come and peck you

That happens all the time in red ranks. If you're solo queue you unfortunately can't depend on your team.

i cant stress this enough. I bought the game for pc and low ranks had made me enjoy the game so much more. (mind you im red rank survivor/killer on console.) where i accidently played the game for 45 hours and made it to red rank with out raging.. i mean except for this one toxic doctor.. but tbh he was a camper.
