I love it when they pair it with thrill of the hunt, it's like a "summon the killer" button.
Ruin is pointless with ToTH, face survivors who can hit great skillchecks atleast somewhat consistantly and you are already 2 perks down.
But what if the killer is the Doctor what great skill checks u gonna hit:|
Just work through it then, accept the fact it may take a bit longer, and keep trying. Its not literally impossible to get gens done.

And you still have the option to remember the hex, and destroy it once hes picking someone up or chasing someone across the map so its virtually impossible to stop you in time.

Ruin isn't exactly Op, just slows down the game, it doesn't really help the Killer except make it longer for survivors to do gens, while yes, effective on lower ranks, it's not very good on people who hit great skill checks. If you want to make a valid argument, at least don't make yourself look like an idiot...

small game perk designed to "find ruin" but not so good at finding

    survivor cant not holding anymore.

    killer has no weakpoint now.

You don't really have to worry about Ruin when you Gen Tap which is what most of my friends and I do until we find ruin. Yes it's a little slower but you literally just hold the repair button until you see your character set into the repair animation about 3-4 seconds then let go and do it again, this avoids skill checks altogether and basically makes ruin and lullaby useless for the most part.

A better approach is to do them as normal and if you miss a hex skill check, stop working on the gen until it stops sparking. This will get you quicker progress - you stop while it's sparking because the repair progress halts, but it still rolls the chances for a skill check to happen. There's an element of luck to it because sometimes you'll get skill checks rapid fire, but on average this will get your gens done faster than tapping.

    Ruin is completely balanced.

It's destroyable, the totem spawns are predictable in a rank 1-10 game you're lucky if it buys you 30 seconds and it's the only perk slower moving killers can use to stop a Gen Rush.

And with the prove thyself changes coming in it's going to be more needed than ever.

Why are you making several threads about the same "complaint"?

Because survivors like to cry. I prefer to watch them cry on a hook or on the ground though

Ruin is not OP, It's a totem perk. Any Totem perk can easily be destroyed from the entire match by simply cleansing the totem. Trust me, I run it to try slow down the game and it's gone within the first minute.
The only time ruin has actually worked for me is when I was a newer player going against people who didn't know to take out the totem, or if it was in a really good hiding spot which is like 0.0001% of the time.

great skillchecks are not even hard to hit.
    you can always just gentap
totems are in horrible spots the majority of the time

    there.
3 reasons why ruin is far from op.

A Perk that often gets destroyed within the first minute of the game is OP. Sure........

For one perk to being OP, it needs to have 2 conditions
    1) No counterplay
    2) No downsides when it's used
    for example, DC and adrenalin

Yeah most games it doesn't last long but there's been a few recently where it either went the full game or at least 5 minutes and only 1 or no gens done. It's really feast or famine with nothing in the middle sadly.

Its not only RNG in the sense of totem spawns but also in who you run into, for some survivors its hell to work through ruin while others negate the perk to the point its either like Thanatophobia or nothing.
