Emote Only After Chat? Your thoughts!
Hello Community :)
bc there is no after chat on console and on pc its a nightmare most of the time, would you be in favor of an "emote only" afterchat? People could express themself without throwing around insults or endlessly typing on a controller across different platforms. Ofc this would eliminate regular after chat conversations, but tbh in 99% of the time its just a "GG" or someone who is mad.
I'm not talking about the standard phone emojis, but rather dbd related ones (hooks, gens, thumbs up / down, GG, different killer/surv faces / expressions etc). Also different emojis are unlocked if you reach certain achievements: a golden bhvr logo for prestiging all chars (bronze for p1, silver for p2 and gold for p3) or smth like that, maybe some at the rift or for certain events etc.
Pros/Cons that I can currently think of:
Pro:
- People can express themself across platforms (wont be possible with crossplay)
- New unlockables / collectables
- Less toxicity
- (maybe) less pm's with discussions about the game on console
Cons:
- general chatting is now gone, punishing people who used it to actually be nice to each other
- players cant ask questions / have to pm the player for any requests (within their own platform)

I don't see a point in it. With the same result we could just delete the chat rather than use emotes. Or just turn off the chat, why would I want to look at some emotes only? 😅

I'm very against adding more emotes to the game. Rarely are the emotes actually used and when they are people don't actually pay much attention to them. They're usually just used to BM. Plus the devolution of emotes eventually becoming dabbing or fortnite dances is too dangerous of a reality.

bc there is no chat for consoles and we're getting crossplay soon? For consoles its an addition and for pc it might help with the toxic behaviour/chat after the game.
you missed the point. Its about the AFTER CHAT not emotes while playing.

So they would be 'emojis' that would pop up above survivor's heads? A thumbs up or down? Like that? I was thinking in the endgame lobby survivors would give a thumbs up or something, but I guess I misunderstood.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds has a similar system, it looks like this:
But it would only work in the postgame chat, writing text messages would be replaced by emojis.

I understand now, sorry I obviously misread what you were saying.
I think it would be good for Mobile or Console, but I think it's too cartoony even if they were made to fit the game. Also people getting salty at the end of the game is honestly a highlight for me. I wouldn't be angered by this, but I wouldn't ever ask for it. Gentle pass from me but with an understanding "I get why."
