I play on Xbox, new MMR is not that good
Devs said they have been testing the new MMR on Xbox for a few weeks. Well as someone that plays the game on Xbox, I'd like to say it sucks. Sorry. It just does.
As survivor I pretty much have only been put with low rank survivors. If I play in a SWF, we get low rank killers despite all of us being red ranks. If we 3 man, we get a red rank killer and a rank 20 random. If I solo everyone including killer is below rank 13.
As killer it's a mixed bag. Some games I get red ranks, but they are AWFUL red ranks. Like they should not be playing at red ranks. Most games I get baby survivors. Last night as a rank 2 Huntress I got back to back games of rank 15/20 survivors. I had to go so far out of my way to extend the game for pips it was a bit ridiculous. I got maybe 2 games in the past 5 days that were legit difficult games with good SWF survivors. I haven't lost much so IDK why I'm still getting low MMR survivors.
Oh and people quit. A LOT. Multiple DC's on both sides. I don't understand why you would test such an important feature and turn off DC penalties.
Sorry but I really don't have a lot of faith in this new MMR. It honestly just makes the problem worse. Giving me random survivors would probably be better than this.

It’s been predicted since they announced it to be bad because they don’t have high enough servers to be able to run it but nah they won’t listen

I play on Xbox as well... and right now the MMR thinks I'm a good nurse (spoiler I'm not)
But I'll have to play more to really see (while streaming it so I have something to look at afterward)

I play on Xbox and this MMR is terrible honestly I’m rank 1 killer and survivor . When i play survivor I get low rank teammates and killer I get easy games cos of low ranks which makes the game boring .

The MMR might even be working fine. All they said was that it proved to be extremely accurate at predicting the outcome of the match - and it might have correctly predicted for your killer matches that they were extremely in your favor so the problem would be with the "revamped" matchmaking algorithm they said they would still "tweak this part of the system".
I am one of the few people who are supporting the devs' decision to keep MMR hidden and hope they keep it that way. However, what I would be fine with and what I think would be interesting at this point would be to see the system's prediction of the outcome after the match. If it said "balanced match" and you dominated clearly then the MMR calculated over the last months is not as good as they claimed in their post. If it said "in favor of the killer" then it's the new matchmaking algorithm that still came up with too many unsuitable matches.

How are the queue times as killer,survivor + SWF?
Did they improve or did they get worse?

I think the system is building up ratings on players. I’m learning spirit, and downed everyone so fast that I let them reset to keep playing for a while. (Dropped a Claudette next to a hook until she wiggles free and then walked off so they could heal up and unhook)

My issue with hiding the MMR system is that it makes it difficult to believe the devs.
How do we even know there is a new system, if nothing has really changed from the player perspective?
There needs to be some kind of actual indicator.

you can’t really take the ranks of the survs/killer as indicator if the MMR matchmaking works or not; the whole point was to make it not rank dependent..
as to easier or harder matches: the devs never stated you would only get perfect matchups, but you don’t know how those matches affected your MMR. Also this is still a work in progress and is only tested on one system for a reason, tweaking is also going on.
also you gotta think about the RNG factor of this game, you can get in situations where you can easily down a very good surv despite you being not the best killer, it happens a lot in this game for me actually..

Pretty much the same for me. I've been getting teammates that actually know how to do a gen, lol. Most of my teammates and killers have been red ranks (I've only seen a few rank 18-20 players). The games feel much better now.

There's a pinned post from the devs about how the new MMR system diregards rank, as rank only indicates how much a person has played in a month, not their skill. Expect to see all kinds of ranks.
As far as disconnects, it seems that the penalty was disabed to stop it from affecting players with the connection error bug.
I would like MMR to stay hidden. Seeing rank rise and fall only makes some players sweaty for the rank-up, and get extra salty if they drop in rank. I think the same would happen if MMR were visible.
I am curious, though, if the killer-specific rank is being tracked right now, or not until the Mid-Chapter patch locks killer selection before queue'ing.

Been working fine for me. When I play survivor, 9/10 games have been great fun.
When I play killer I'm a Ghostface main and outside of one game where I was placed against clearly new survivors, I've been working for 3k - 4k

penalty was not stopped because of the connection error bug. it is because a team of hackers found a way to give people they didn't like 3 hours of penalties without a single dc.
with the hidden mmr, it's not easy to see how matching is done, so how the heck can you believe it's being done at all? I've gotten as a rank 17 killer ranks 2, 3, 3, and 5 and they let me get 6K points lol (that's all i could get, couldn't get a hit what so ever. where as when i go against more mid ranked players i get even matches. so what if i get this again? am i to believe that I can't go against the red ranks but if that's so why wasn't i paired with people that have mid rank skill ? this implementation along with the locking of killer from the minute you press go before the main lobby (though understandable) while there are hacks to see the killer and they have been very silent about fixing this so far, it wasn't in ptb patch notes from my understanding either. so what am I to believe?

Then the solution would be to show the difference between your MMR and the others in the lobby; keep the numbers relative to show whether or not you were matched appropriately, all without giving the players something to sweat and whine over (actual MMR value/standing).

though in theory even that would be exploitable. The problem is in any competitive game people are going to game the system. it will only take time to figure it out. The other problem is people will complain about it being vague and thus arbitrary. win conditions need to be specified in order to understand how anything about this is done, yet the devs have said time and time again there are more win conditions than they can say. also, what happens with the killer letting the last survivor out? how is that counted? how is it counted if the match is turned into a farming match? how about if a killer AFK's? how about if a survivor dc's or two dc's (legit reasons)? there is no way this game could have a specific enough win condition to truly effectively use an MMR system. Overwatch: specified scenarieos, this means you know what you have to do to get a victory or a loss. COD:MW and all the other FPS games don't have the asymmetry DBD has. I do not expect this to be heralded in as a 100% resounding success, I actually see it driving people away.
how about cheats? there is no real good cheat engine for this game and hell they had to remove the dc penalties because that's being hacked, and currently survivors are knowing the killer before they even lock and load in to the match yet there is nothing about that fix other than rumors and thus the locked in killer is screwed.

I am against the MMR system too. When you start getting good at killer, you will basically play against SWF literally every game. I can't see how that would be fun in the short/long term. Now it's random if you get SWF, with the new system, not so...

I play on Xbox and I think the matchmaking has been really good lately. I play solo red rank survivor mostly and have experienced few issues. Que times are always around a minute or two. Just mentioning this to counter dome of the complaints. Also its funny that the devs tell everyone they are putting in a new system where ranks don't matter and the big complaint in the original post is about rank disparities. Lol

won't matter: show, hide, be vague some will find fault and some will love the idea and the argument will continue "I didn't get a good match up!" "You got a good matchup" etc. the only extra benefit hiding it gives is plausible denyability to the devs when things break. they won't have to say a word about it.

Well my last game last night was against a plague. She got 2 kills. Only because i screwed up and the rank 20 survivirs left me to die on hook. But it got the 2 kill 2 escape ratio right i guess

It's unplayable. I get only worthless survivors now and killers are rank 10-20 and they can't play either. I will be taking a break from the game now until they fix this it's horrible to be rank 1 and to play with new players.

No rank still means something. I should NOT be put against rank 20's as a rank 1 Huntress with 20 4k's in a row. As someone with 3k hours I should NOT be matched against players with less than 50 hours as often as I am.
I'm telling you it's not working.
I played on my smurf accounts to see if there was a difference there too. Rank 13 survivor on one. Got matched with THREE rank 1's and a rank 18 killer. Killer got BODIED and DC'd. Tell me how the MMR thinks I should be put into games like this?

They added the cake items for the event and they were broken for a week despite being the same thing as BPS and the other event items with a different .png and 4% more

I think its working pretty good actually. Certainly better than it has been over the last month. Playing survivor today i definetly noticed the 2k 2 escape was working. Playing killer i can tell its trying to do that and sometimes it works other times not so much.

Get babies as oni who I do good with and unless they check your previous stats they should let me get better ones after a few games right? Well I play Wraith for his adept and ONLY get good survs with maybe 1 or 2 bad ones and i get gen rushed as the killer im not good with then I play a killer I do good with and get babies what the hell

That or SWF's only only want fun vs. SWF's that do the gens and leave... sometimes it's hard to tell
