Midwich Elementary School is becoming a huge problem (EDIT - OoO is the larger problem)

I'm really glad the devs won't limit perks in swfs. They know the playerbase will drop and then killers can sit in long lobbies. Nothing gets to me as a killer

Also most accusations of "Camping" and "Tunneling" are the survivors own faults for doing bad unhooks/healing under the hook even when within the killer's terror radius aka Nurse's calling range.

Looks like we found the toxic SWF runner here. . .

Can I just say that I don't know exactly what it's like here on this forum when it comes to sides, this was my 1st post but I never camp or tunnel anyone intentionally. While both camping and tunnelling is bad play, it isn't trying to take the game hostage. The game does end eventually and people can move on quite quickly usually.
I'm by no means a Killer or Survivor main. I just like playing the game and I try to do it a fairly as possible, sometimes against my own enjoyment of the game but honestly I'd rather just lose and move on than play like a scumbag and win.
No one should be entitled to win any game.
While that's great I think that it would be far more interesting to see a variety of perks not just the meta nearly all the time. I'm not saying remove any perks from SwF but regulate their usage in a team to allow for more interesting strategies than everyone running DS and Unbreakable. The fact that doing this would eliminate this kind of perk + map abuse is a useful by-product that goes a long way in removing these useless time-wasting bully teams from the game.
Unless you somehow think they are healthly and fair part of the game? idk, I don't have a fix all for everything that will make everyone happy.

Play Solo and usually play killer.
Looks like we got a "it's not me its everything else" crybaby

Well I've learned a lot today, maybe that I just don't want to use these forums. I had a funny feeling that posting here would be an extension of the huge flame war you that get in-game. Thanks guys.
I set up a ticket but expect no reply from Behaviour. Good luck to all of you.

If they didn’t make the dumb decision that you get absolutely no bp or progress in KYF (despite this being basically a casual game and the fact they could have halved or even quartered the bp gain) I think more folks would be accepting of the idea

i don´t know dude... not being able to play with your friends is... weird. There aren´t only toxic genrushing SWF. There´s also people that play for fun, the people that are new to the game and just want to play with their friends... It definetly needs changing as it´s really hard to win when it´s an organized good player SWF, but straight out removing it from the game? i don´t think so.

Just move on, you only proved that they made you mad by posting about it. If you want to avoid a toxic chat don't chat at all or leave as soon as the match is over. As for the players if you have proof of them taking a game hostage report it, don't create a discussion about it.

When I said this about a game where I got BT’d, deliverenced on, and DS’d our the gate, people told me the same exact thing. No one here is actually going to listen.
1 -
So? a killer camps you, you're out of the match in 2 minutes tops, that's not comparable to not doing your objective just to spite the killer. First one is gameplay, second one is actually bannable and serves no game-purpose. The enemy is the killer, not the player behind the screen, too many people don't get this.
1 -
Camping + tunneling =\= holding game hostage
0 -
So where's the option for killers to play with friends then? Ppl on the forums were ACTIVELY against it.
0 -
Hood luck. Don’t bother with the forums, honestly I legitimately believe you’ll find a more reasonable, accepting community on Reddit.

I can't believe he said that. When working in customer service, we were told never to agree with a client who says the company sucks. Never. The game director saying, "go play another game if you don't like it", is even worse because he should know better. Mind = blown.

an option for killers to play with friends? you mean, 2 killers in a lobby? I´ve been wanting that for a long time, would be really fun! imagine 2 killers, and 8 survivors, where you don´t need to do gens, just survive an x amount of time? But then again, adding a mode like that and removing the possibility of playing with friends are 2 different things.

Considering all you've done in this thread is be A) condescending, and B) making excuses for poor map/perk balance, can you blame me? Midwich is a horribly designed map that allows toxic SWF to abuse it, especially when running OoO. Pretending that neither of these are an issue is either extreme bias, lack of game knowledge, you've never experienced it yourself, or simply don't care.

Yet another reason to delete Object.

I havent even seen this map since the update came out

I do agree in it's current state it's very OP (especially when in the survivors favour, which is almost always otherwise they would never equip the perk) but does it need to be deleted? No. It's needs a serious rework because I don't think the developers understood the ramifications of the perk when it was created and didn't have maps such as Midwich planned. It just sounded like a cool risk reward perk like No Mither (which could do with some changes too).
I honestly think the devs may have turned down it's chance of appearing as the few times I've had it recently, it does seem to always because of a map offering than just by random. Don't quote me on that though. I haven't seen the stats.
I also want to throw out the while the map design is questionable, I don't hate Midwich. Hell, aesthetically & atmospherically: it's a really good map and I have managed a couple of fun games on it but for each of those games, there's another match where the survivors abuse either glitches or poor design to try and take the game hostage & make me rage quit.
This OoO SwF thing just really just took the biscuit though. No hate, but just the tenacity and toxicity of those survivors to do something that was so blatantly unintentional and scummy and then scream at me in post game for not letting them "have fun" by forcing a rage quit out of me for free BP and some sick sense of power and satisfaction.
Just really sad to see.

If they were holding the game hostage and if you have proof such as a recording or even a picture I'd say yeah report them. But sadly That's how this game is devs allow this and so much more to happen. But people will still defend it. Cuz they love using these toxic tactics.

The only difference between SWF and KYF is:
KYF - Survivors get to choose their Killer
SWF - Survivors don't get to choose their Killer
With both options Survivor friends can still play together. So removing SWF harms no one other than the toxic trolltards who want to pick on random low rank Killers. And I think everyone can agree that a reduction in toxicity is a good thing for dbd.

😕 I thought OoO only worked for one survivor per trial tho?
0 -
Being the obsession only extends its near infinite range by 8 meters.
Nearly every single logical downside you'd expect OoO to have(Like the survivor and killer needing to look at each other for the survivor to see the killer's aura) is absent.
0 -
Cheers for the info 👍🙏
In one of those weird coincidence type things I've only run OoO when solo queuing and I guess none of the other randoms I'd played with had it because I'd be Obsession with OoO so I thought that's how it worked.
0 -
I think the issue is OoO, not Midwitch. OoO in its current design will limit all future map design. This is the same issue old balanced landing had and why it was changed, it limited their future map creation.
I actually love the unique map design of Midwitch as both survivor and killer. I hope they experiment more like this in future maps.
0 -
Yeah you should expect at least one OoO if you see a midwich offering and it isn't really counterable so...not encouraging DCing in-game but sometimes the match just doesn't have to start at all.
0 -
Those are some hardcore ######### requirements he has to be first hook and still have ds that's not 100% the game having a blast with op combo's but you not hooking properly either
0 -
Object of Obsession is the problem.
The map is fine.
1 -
Screw that!
EMBRACE ME DADDY!
1 -
Why are you so upset about this? There are a billion things in this game that can be abused by a SWF group. Go complain about those too. And while you are at it complain about things killers can abuse as well. The game it it's very core is a broken experience. How about we demand the entire game gets fixed instead of just a map.
0 -
OoO just need a rework not the map in the perk.
1 -
How is that a hardcore requirement of I don't tunnel?
0 -
Stop playin such Killers as The shape, ghost face and the Bell. That invisible stalker ######### is no fun playin against... And the Killers are to much powers against the survivors wich is not even fair, and then u play that invisible thing... Many player quit the game when they realize if the Killer is one of them
0 -
Even if you don't tunnel at all a deliverance ds play would be impossible to pull off if he was atleast hooked once. Ds and deliverance and such are like perks that reward a survivor for stalling out their use since they are meh early but really good late. It's not as bs as ds unbreakable but still and also hooking someone twice isn't always tunnel either a lot of survivors just unhook for points and then just run away, like buddy i don't wanna hook you again but ur friends screwed you hard by baiting me to you again.

How to kill the game in 1 easy step:
0 -
they never going to remove swf people want to play with they friends take that away and the game will die less then a week.
1 -
Dude, are you trolling?
Not trying to be rude or anything but If you don't like stealthy killers that's not an issue with me (some random) or the game. I play pretty much all of the killers and no one (to my knowledge) has ever DCed because of the killer I'm playing. If you want to play survivor, learning to deal with stealth killers is just part of the game (Like learning to deal with every killer). Most can be countered by running spine chill or just swinging around your camera and being aware of your surroundings whenever you are open to stalk or ambush. I doesn't work all the time but once you know who the killer is you can be on high alert.
Stealth killers take a decent amount of knowledge to play effectively too. Wraith without the right addons has very low map pressure, Myers (while pretty well balanced) does have a very weak early game and personally I find Ghostface's power quite fiddly and the cooldown (by default) is crippling if you misuse his power.
Don't worry though, stick with it. Learn what you can and most killers, terror radius or not, can be out-played if know you how they operate.
Best of luck out there!

I'll admit they should have played the game normally but I think it is funny they stopped your build. You brought in an infinite tier 3 Myers, fully expecting to win, and they stopped you. Grow a pair and stop whining about a perk, you used your best and whining like a baby because they used something of their own to counter you.
1 -
Um... they didn't really counter my build? in any way?
I was using a bunch of random level 3 passive perks (Hardly even a build because of how strong my addons were & I wanted to play fair) and infinite tier 3 because I was going to prestige Myers and wanted to use up addons & offerings. Could not care less if I won or lost the match, I just came for the BP.
I'm not some entitled player that thinks I deserve to 4K every match and will happily "lose" if I have some fun chases and get a decent amount of points. Hell, if they were fun to play against I would have given them props & reps regardless of the outcome of the match. If they were fair to me, I would always give last survivor the hatch. Infinite tier 3 is powerful but I'm not going to play super toxic because of that power.
These people on the other hand, running OoO in a 3 player SwF, would happily play super toxic because of their powerful perk.
I sacrificed 3 out of 4 survivors (the hatch spawn was completely up to luck because they refused to even touch a generator)
As you can see these people expected an escape out of this stupid strategy because they bought offerings and items. They got barely any points and I still managed to black pip despite their best attempts to starve me of actual gameplay. If you think these survivors "stopped" my build, then you are severely misinformed.
I'm not going to read the scoreboard to you. I'm sure you are capable enough to do it yourself. I'm sorry but the stats don't lie.
I'm not here to "whine like a baby". I'm here to have a proper conversation about how and why this map combined with these kind of players using this one perk is an issue for the game.

No I get that, . But this is a scenario where I had already two hooked everyone else, he was the immersed survivor so I didn't get to him until late/endgame.
0 -
I have been an advocate that swf is a leading cause of toxicity on this game since I started playing but removing it would just screw over friends who want to play the game normally and not be counts.
There is pretty much no action bhvr will take against swf because their primary focus is new content and bug fixes. The only way to make swf "balanced" would be to make a system that could track everyone in an swfs ability and match the group against a killer who would be able to beat them fairly.
But because this is bhvr there is no way this is going to happen. This is clear from how long it took them to take action on the rank system and we still bareley have anything after months. Removing swf would hurt the game more than the toxicity it causes overall.
1 -
Right. Imbalance map and perk combo, known to have their own issues, but you're using a strong build yourself, so sit down and shut up, right? That's what you're going for? I believe we call that a red herring.
0 -
Imbalance is all in perception. What if the killrate on the map was normal, or higher?
Instead of red herring, I would say if it is fair for the goose it is fair for the gander.

A strong build that the devs purposely added =/= exploitative perk/map combo that the devs failed to consider
