When Freddy teleports to a gen which direction will he be facing?

When you teleport is there a standard rule on what side of the generator you will be facing? I get lost every time I try to use that to fool a survivor. I was assuming that you would appear on the closest facing side to your original location (before teleporting). Thank you for any help.

From my experience you appear facing the direction you begin the teleport in. If that direction isn't available it goes to the next closest side.
