Spending money in DBD

Member Posts: 96

Guys what's your thought on spending money in dbd? Do you think it's okay/stupid?

This is the first, and i mean the FIRST game i spent a lot of money on and one day im okay with it, the other day im regretting every penny i spent on it.

Is there more cosmetic freaks in here or im the only one?

Cheers

Spending money on cosmetics is objectively a bad economic decision. But its really up to you.

I spend alot of money on cosmetics because I think alot of them look nice. My only regret is buying so many jane ones to the point I dont use old ones so I try and switch it up to use all of them(will most likely buy her set that is coming out). I may have annoying days but it doesn't make me regret spending money

On one hand I'm glad that BHVR keeps the DLC prices reasonable, but on the other hand the fact that cosmetics can cost almost twice the amount of what an official DLC chapter will cost is ridiculous.

Perfect example is the recent Silent Hill chapter. The chapter itself cost $7.99, but the exclusive nurse skin for Cheryl Mason costs $15.

Truth is it's your money and you have every right to spend it any way you see fit. But for me, I can't justify spending $10-$15 for a simple skin.

Depends on how much youve spent vs how much you make. I dont regret the few hundred ive spent but i make quite a bit. If i were back in my early 20s scraping by still, yeah i wouldnt have spent so much

It depends. As long as you're OK with the realization that one day the servers go down & everything you spent money on will be gone forever. There's nothing tangible about pixels. You don't own physical copies of anything. I found this out the hard way with Marvel Heroes when they shut those servers down. So think of it more as paying for entertainment hours, like going to the movie theater.

I bought all dlc. I love the game that much and I also wanted to support Behavior cause they are a great team. Dlc isn't that much and I like playing as famous people in the game. Maps are free and you can experience everyone in game without spending a dollar. You only have to pay to play as them. If this game were made by EA or Activision, that wouldn't have happened. You would have had to pay or else be stuck with vanilla maps, survivors, and Billy, Wraith, and Trapper

So long as it remains only for licenced killers and certain cosmetics, I'm fine with it. I just wish that the cosmetics themselves were cheaper on the Iri shards, because it's kind of stupid just how expensive they are in terms of time.

There is nothing wrong in supporting a game you like. The company get some money to invest back at the game and you get some nice looking props.

The only reason I haven't bought any cosmetics yet or even the season pass is because I personally dislike the way they handle the game or respond to some valid concerns. Thus, they haven't warranted any purchases from me yet.

But if you fell they deserve, go ahead, it's a nice way to support the game

My answer to this is "who tf cares about what I buy?" But that's just me. (No disrespect intended btw)

If you enjoy a game I think it's worth spending money on it even if it's only cosmetics, I'm at 5K hours in dbd, I owe them at this point :P
