Item slot empty but my char is holding an item

In lobby with other players, only seems to happen when I switch chars in lobby, esp Claudette, it looks like im holding a key even tho i don't have any item picked. If I pick an item and then remove it, she will no longer be holding anything. But if i let it be and dont fix the "visual" it will say in the endmatch screen that i had for example, a key with me, even tho i know for a fact my item slot was empty (did it purposely to see what would happen)

Happened with me, I was playing killer and one survivor was holdind a medic-kit in the lobby, but in the match and on the endgame chat showed her holding a key.
