Knock Out nerf

Knock Out

Knock Out has been underperforming and is underpicked by Killers. Adding the temporary slowdown to "crawling" fits the flavor of the perk while giving it another gameplay dimension.

  • Knock Out: Now triggers on basic attacks only. Additionally, Survivors put in the dying state by your basic attacks will crawl 50/50/50% slower for 15/15/15 seconds. During this time, they are affected by the Blindness status effect.

I don't get it. You say KO is underperforming and underpicked. So your solution is nerfing it? How will it be picked more if it only works with basic attacks now? And no, crawling slower and blindness for 15s is not worth it. It does absolutely nothing. You sit on the ground for 30s to recover anyways.

Wait, are u serious? Did they really reworked this perk? In this??? No, it can't be...

EDIT: Ok, I'm at the patch notes now and yeah... I don't get it either...

I don't think it makes other survivors unable to see the down persons aura either anymore. Why change a bad perk to be objectively worse for no reason?

Edit: Didn't know you still have the blindness on downs, they didn't communicate that well in the patch notes.

Because balancing stuff is always a struggle as we seen with the past reworks. Whoever is in charge of game balance needs to explain what they were thinking doing this.

I mean this is happening when they're doing two good buff to tinkerer and lightborn so i dont see why this perk isn't getting much love.

Because of killers like Billy that can slug all 4 survivors with his m2 pretty quickly

The "additionally" mentioned in the notes means it keeps its original effect PLUS these for 15 seconds.

Yeah it's quite a hard nerf on Knockout...which was already almost never ran anyway.

Making it only basic attacks is quite a hard nerf, whereas 15 seconds of slow crawl speed and Blindness is just completely irrelevant and might as well be deleted. That would only be relevant if it was like 60 seconds.

The bigger question is if bond and empathy still override the blindness effect.

According to the new description of KO, these features ADD to what the perk always did. KO still hides the survivor aura outside of a 16 meters range. So it's a buff, except for the basic attack thing, which is pretty stupid.

We know that. but it only triggers with basic attacks now. thats the problem.

I'd assume not. I don't know why they would change the way blindness works with auras for just one perk.

But if you mean, the other people not inflicted by blindness, I'd assume it's as normal and lets them see the downed person with those.

Yes it has a buff that is completely useless and a nerf that will it make picked even less.

I swear someone needs to sit these devs down and explain every single stupid decision they've made. They might realize the point when they get to the 16th hour.

Some of the changes that came to the game with this patch give me the impression that whoever made them has never once played DbD.

This too was one of the dumbest changes i've seen. You realize how many items you break, especially after the update with Franklin's demise? So many. Like litterally I couldn't use items against killer's running Franklin's. Now that I know my item will still have charges. That makes me more likely to go back and pick it up - faster.

The only time Blindness will be of benefit is when the survivor affected by it also has Tenacity.

A downed survivor is either picked up or slugged. A slugged survivor either recovers or crawls toward others. Only Tenacity lets them do both. Blindness has no effect on survivors who choose to recover because recovering takes longer than the Blindness duration.

SWF can still use voice chat to call out their location to get picked up. This perk should have been buffed to make the downed survivor's screen go black and be affected by Blindness until hooked or they are the last remaining survivor. Then, at least the killer can relocate their body so that all the others have to go off of is "I was downed by the shack and I'm being carried somewhere else now, but I don't know where."

Uhhhh It does still make people unable to see the person you knocked down right? Like.....that was the entire strategical use of the perk....RIGHT!??!?!?! DEVS!!!!!!!!

It does, but the point I try to make is, how will it be picked more if it only works with basic attacks now? The devs say something and do the complete opposite. I don't get it.

Oh, well then it'll be fine, unless you do a gen grab, or a locker pull....in which case it forces you to throw them to the hook.
