New Aura System makes seeing BBQ and Totems very hard

The new aura system makes it almost impossible for me to spot my totems at the start of the round, and this causes them to be broken before i can even check them. This also occurs with BBQ and Chili as I can not see the now stick-figures that the perk produces. It is so annoying.
