What’s with the ranking system? What’s happening with that?

Im rank 14 and I’m being put with players that are rank 1/2/3(killer and survivor). Obviously, I’d be a better rank if I played more but things to do. It just seems these players are like devoted to being stupid and mean. Some rank 1 killers I’ve come across play like they’re just starting out(camping, tunnelling). Which is not unheard of but like why?

im just confused about the whole thing.

    if you are on xbox then match making is using the new MMR system that is supposed to match you up based on skill you've shown in game, not your rank. since you said you'd be a better rank if you played more I'm thinking that is the story
