Why is matchmaking still not working properly for me?

Idk if this is a universal issue, but I'm still either getting survivors that are way out of my league as a killer, or I'm getting survivors that I kill within 2 gens being done. I honestly think that the rank system would work fine if people would just be placed with their rank, if the killer or survivor is better than the rank they're in, then they'll rank up and get out of that rut and be placed with people that are about their skill level. I don't see the need to completely rework the system by getting rid of ranks, I would just fix the current system honestly. Personally I like the idea of having individual ranks for each killer, that sounds great for if a killer wants to try a new killer out but doesn't want to risk their rank, however because the recent changes on xbox have made it impossible to tell if your at your rank because of skill or because of bad matchmaking, now that I'm getting close to being a red rank killer, I have no idea if that's because of my skill or not, so I feel robbed of the satisfaction of feeling like I'm at my best possible.

    Rank 16 Survivor here. Just got mori'd by a rank 2 Wraith on PS4. Was most unpleasant. I know people over on reddit like to pretend rank means very little, but when you're rank 16 and not running meta perks, you stand little chance against a red ranked killer.
