The silent "Thank you" in Dead by Daylight

Double crouching.

Anyone else do this to thank anyone? Maybe after a heal or something.

A killer opened the door for me and then let me wiggle out. I gave him the double crouch as a "thank you" and he nod his head as to accept. lol. Made me think of the silent thank you in this game.

I usually see the singular quick crouch, those also exist, but the double one is also welcoming from time to time.

I do a single crouch. But usually only if not in the terror radius.

Yup, I do this a lot. Survivors can't heal you for half a second or so when you're unhooked, so a friendly t-bag is a must in the mean time!

I love the culture DBD has surrounding communication. 2 crouch for thank you. One for you're welcome (maybe). Point at gen to do it.

Everytime after a heal i give a double crouch.

And in cases where the killer lets me go they get a double crouch.

And it does seem like everyone understands that i saying thank you, i think it just one of those unspoken things that everyone agrees/goes along with

The single one is nice too. For me the quick double crouch is the most natural. Though yeah a killer can think you're messing with him after he spared you.

i find it very amusing when i healed or heal someone and i do the double crouch and they quickly follow up with the double crouch to acknowledge said double crouch. Always puts a smile on my face. In the mist of such horror and cruelty that such civilized behavior can still exist.

I single crouch as a way of saying ty to survivors for healing me.

If a killer lets me go I usually nod or if I have an item I'll drop it at their feet and leave it there. I don't crouch just incase they take it the wrong way heh.

Double crouch=Thank you (For other survivors)

Holding crouch, possibly with an item drop=Please/Spare me (For the killer)

    This ^^^

It's a pretty universal system. Although I think the responding crouch can be one or two, doesn't matter, it's more of an acknowledgement than anything else.

But I'd have to agree Thank You is definitely 2 crouches, think about it: thank you is two words. If you do one crouch you're just speaking nonsense.

I also like the introductory crouching spam - Survivors who start the trial next to each other spam crouch, maybe even in a circular motion, and it's like "Yoooooo Wuz Gud Homie!? Let's do this thing!!" It's hyp-E

Even if you didn't start the trial next to each other it's sort of a customary greeting between each other at the beginning of a trial when you first meet to spam crouch. Classic example: one guy working on a gen, you multi crouch as you approach walking across the screen and / or towards them and then work on the gen afterward. The response might be that they stop working briefly and spam crouch right next to the generator and then start working on it again.

It's a very in depth and heartfelt system of communication.
