I don’t understand this
How is “Killer main” or “survivor main” and insult?
Does something about to role mean something?
I’ve been sitting here curious for the past 30 minutes now

They aren't insults, but to be honest a lot of people throw out words not thinking what they actually mean. They are normally used as a way to blame someone of being biased of one side and not understanding the other.

If you're a Killer Main, people get mad if you try to talk about changing Survivor Perks or items or something that it makes harder for them to complete their objective.
If you're a Survivor Main, people get mad if you try to talk about changing Killer Perks or Powers or something that makes it harder for them to hunt down and kill Survivors.
It's really just "You don't know what it's like in my role, so you can't talk about changing something about it"

It shows bias. You're rooting for YOUR team rather than making reasonable claims.

Its used as a way to shut others opinion down. If your a surv main you can't say DS isn't OP, If your a killer main you can't say NOED isn't OP.

I do honestly wish people would play both sides. It helps your play for the side you favor and also allows you to see what each side goes through.

It really shouldn't be insulting; there is nothing wrong with generally preferring one side over the other. Plus basic context like having multiple friends who play the game may lead to more survivor games (where you can play with those friends).
If they can back up their opinions with logic and reasoning, then I don't usually find much fault in role "mains" weighing in on options. Mains of a role often experience certain problems far more frequently/intensely than those who more often swap between roles too (whereas dual-role players often develop a better view of the grand scheme of DbD balance). Sort of a little-details vs big-picture outlook.
It's those players who seem oblivious to the fact that their role is only HALF of the full game that tend to grind my gears. Though regardless, trying to insult people or dismiss their arguments purely on the grounds of whatever role they prefer to play is pretty dumb.
