I have a question for the devs regarding Pyramid Head.

Hello, fellow forum members and, hopefully, developers.

I've been playing this guy for a long time and I'm really enjoying him so far. But there's this little thing that keeps bugging me: why does putting someone is a cage or executing someone require a channel? I don't get it. It feels really clunky and I don't understand why it is the way it is.

Why don't you make it so you only have to tap the button to do the action. It doesn't take long, you can't spam the animation and you can't possibly misclick like you can with the mori since Mr. Pyramid Head doesn't have any other actions binded to the cage button.

I know it might sound ridiculous and extremely nitpicky, but I really dislike this aspect of his kit. This extra second you will save yourself by removing the channel time might do more than you think it would, apart from just making the killer feel nicer to play. Like for example: I find two survivors working on a generator, I quickly down the first survivor, who happens to be tormented and I decide to cage him and pursue his teammate, who is running away from me. In that situation I should feel powerful and threatening by immediately caging one survivor and quickly switching targets but instead I find myself waiting out the channel time to cage someone and give the other survivor some time to run away.

I get it, I get it. It sounds pretty dumb but I personally find this situation very frustrating and extremely unsatisfying. I really hope that I'm not alone on this one.

Thank you for taking your time to read my post and have a nice day :)

Nah it's a good question. I know some Pyramids like to hold on to their torment and only put people in cages if they see another survivor they can start another chase with. I guess if it was an instant those guys would accidentally hit the button sometimes.

BUT that's just a guess. Devs love filling those bars.

I think it is so that they can bait survivors. His punishment of the damned setup looks like you are sending someone to a cage anyway, so it is decent for mindgames if you play it right.

Being able to tap and send survivors to the cage should be a thing. Saves 33% more time even though it's like 1 second, it makes a huge difference in chase. There are cases where you accidentally press space as well but still you tap space and pick them up and there have been no issues so far with that.

There is no baiting survivors by holding LCtrl. No animation happens while PH holds LCtrl. Might as well let you tap LCtrl. Much less clunky.

While you are at it, remove hitbox of the person going to the cage. More often, I'm forced to go sideways before I go front because the guy going to the cage is blocking me.

No this is a really good point, I don't understand it at all. There's no perks bound to that button I believe and it has no other effect regarding PH's power so I don't see why it needs that time. It's so awkward

I don't agree with you on that point. These two actions have two very distinct animations, so you can't really bait by caging against semi-compitent survivors. And even if you could bait, what would you gain out of that? I mean, they can't prevent you caging their teammate anyways so what's the point?

They both have very similar animations, and I have baited out many survivors by pretending to do one thing but actually doing another.

Thank you so much. I'm glad someone agrees with me. The collision thing didn't even cross my mind when I was writing the post but when you mention it does actually seem like a pretty nasty thing. Especially if you cage someone in a narrow hallway or in a doorway.

I think you're mistaken. You get no animation by filling the bar and holding LCtrl. If you wanted to bait you can just go in top of survivor and hold M2. Having a charge time before you cage them plays no role in baiting

Maybe I am wrong about that part, but you can always change your mind before sending them to a cage. Maybe that is why it is like that, idk.
