Anyone else seeing a lot of disconnects?
Are there server issues recently or something? The past few days I've been seeing a lot of survivors disconnect in my matches, and I don't know if they're disconnecting on purpose or if they're having connection issues. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this as well or knows the answer to what's going on.

Is it playing the "Death sound"? (The "Doing!" noise)
If it plays the sound it was 100% an intentional DC because it only plays if they manually hit Leave Match.
If there's no sound it may have been a connection error, crash, or they pulled the cord.

Does it still do that? I'm pretty sure I haven't heard that sound play when someone disconnects in months (PS4 here). I had a definite purposeful disconnect a few days ago where they DC'd the moment I downed them for the first time, it happened so fast they had to have done it through "Leave Match" or "Close App," but no sound played.
So, my question remains: is anyone else experiencing a large number of survivor disconnects?

Yes. It's because they took out the DC penalties and people are babies.

I thought the DC penalties had been re-implemented? I haven't tried disconnecting to see for myself or anything, but other posts on the forums have made it sound like the penalties are back.

I mean maybe I'm incorrect. I hope I'm incorrect. Last I heard, they were disabled because of some hacker stuff going on.
Anyway, if you know where you saw that said or whatever, please link me it because I don't want to spread misinformation. :P Also, I want to know if I've also just been getting mass amounts of people disconnecting even though the penalties are back. I've had multiple games in a row with disconnects recently. More of them than not, in fact.

I could've sworn I saw someone talking about the disconnect penalties returning a few days ago, but I'm lazy and the forum search is broken right now. This thread posted today though suggests that the DC penalties are back: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/177256/dc-penalty
I don't know for sure, though. If anyone has a definite answer on whether or not DC penalties are in effect right now, it'd be much appreciated.

recently they stopped the noise for all dc's so you can't say it was unintentional or intentional because of that. Penalties are IN EFFECT right now and was announced in the game news, you can see it if you click that in the main menu and scroll down just a tiny bit.

Thank you for the clarification on both accounts! I forgot all about that news announcement; it's such a tiny little thing buried under huge Rift and Cosmetics announcements.

I've seen less since they brought back the penalties but more than before they removed them in the first place. Think people got used to no penalty, hopefully it'll decrease more as people realise the penalty is back.
