Am I The Only Who Actually Has To Quit Because Of The Auras?
This isn't permanent. But I actually cannot play as it is now. All aura perks are worthless now and I can't find anything. Whether its with a map as survivor or just killer in general. I want to keep playing the game, but I actually can't. Does anyone know when the auras will be fixed?

There is supposed to be a hotfix coming within the next week or so, along with that, I feel you. I used to play nearly everyday for like... maybe 5 hours and now I barely touch the game

I've not touched DbD since the auras turned bad. I won't touch the game until they turn good. It just reinforced my beliefs that I am not sure what BHVR's doing and enhanced my reluctance to support them by buying skins. I don't want to support a company that's just yoloing changes and then not actually checking out how the changes behave when going live.

I’ve played a lot less, ALOT!!! And I am seriously considering dropping BBQ but the double BP is worth it even if the reading is useless

I'd personally like BHVR to be transparent with us (for once in their dishonest lifespan) and tell us they plan to reprimand their QA team for the garbage they tend to let get through their testing. The aura thing is just the cherry on the cake here.

I mean, they took the aura system from the mobile version of the game...but far be it for us to expect the non mobile dev team to implement it correctly, like the mobile team did.

Honestly the new auras are so garbage, I’ve actually been using Object because the killer can’t see me, but I can tell what direction he’s in because the perk lights up. It’s so funny how bad it is, BHVR should’ve tested it in the PTB instead of quieting dropping it on the mid chapter update.

I stopped playing killer for now. Bbq and chili is useless. I still play survivor, for the most part the auras are tolerable......just.

Ive been playing survivor for the most part since the aura change. which is a shame because I enjoyed killer more :(

I’ve said a million times they need to add better people to the team or replace some of the people bit pulling their weight, falls on deaf ears... now we see they have better people right under their nose but don’t have them working the main game?!?!?!? Between auras and mobile having bots I feel like that’s their better game.
its not just distance either, even Nurse calling at close range is tough to catch

I personally do not think these auras were an accident, and that we are actually the beta testers for the idea to change them as such. The idea that these changes were some accidental quality control mishap doesn't fit into my brain.

I played 2 games after the auras dropped. Could not see my traps as Trapper or the gens, hooks and hex totem. As survivor, running Det Hunch, I could not see gen and totem auras nor could I see survivors on the hook.
I've been playing other games instead. This may actually lead to me dropping DbD all together. I keep forgetting how bad this game is until I spend significant time in other games.
If nothing else, I'm done sinking money into DbD until they start showing some competence in their development.

I can't play Killer whatsoever. I'm colorblind and had already struggled to see auras as Killer. Now it's literally impossible for me because they are just so dark. What do the devs have against colorblind people anyways? For a company that loves to promote how inclusive they are, feeling very discriminated against every update when they make things darker amd offer no options for a player like myself.

Well, you dont HAVE to quit.
You're choosing to because you rely on auras instead of skill, and even then the auras are not that bad.
You just have to (and I know this is gonna sting) use your brain more and rely on perks free information less. 🤷♀️
Bbq still shows me survivors. Empathy still shows me teammates. Are they a little fainter than normal? Yeah, but they're not invisible.
If you rely on bbq+nurses+bitter murmer to do well, you're not really doing well.... try new things. Learn a little more than "oh shiny survivor time to go that way".

When a patch that has nothing do to with sounds, messes up sounds, you cant understand how a patch may randomly affect the brightness of auras in an unrelated way? Are you new here? Lol.

I started playing (don’t laugh) Fortnite so I could understand what the kids were talking about... and I’m really enjoying it. Yes there are jerks, and I know some people cheat or hack but that’s mostly in the competitive environment. I’ve also seen two bugs since I started fixed within 1 day and then 4 days.

Yeah, auras randomly changed colors to yellow on their own. Altered their intensity/brightness and the contour shape of the assets they highlight.
Yep, "just a simple accident that our quality control team missed,... total mistake btw"

I'm taking a break until it's fixed. Survivor sucks but killer is atrocious. Especially since I run BBQ on most of my builds, 'cause grind.

I quit because of the bugs, besides of all the other bugs (such as matchmaking, sounds, blinks on nurse etc)for me it started with the bugged crown event (who tf comes up with an event that is bugged??), the latest patch did the rest for me, besides the auras i just couldnt play the game anymore. after each match i just dc'ed and it showed up and error, so there were no BP granted.

BHVR needs to own up to their mistakes and rebuild the game with a new engine.
Stop with cosmetics and content for about 6 months.
This game is really popalur and is on many platforms, they will be fine.
This games coding was built on a VERY old and outdated system.
FFS use Unreal engine or Frostbite.
Any thing is better than this bs noobie C++ coding strings you guys have, BHVR your a damn embarrasment.
They make so much money off their players and refuse to actually take the time to FIX their game.
This is why dedicated servers are still broken and now auras...
They didnt anounce it when they added in "crawl movement speeds up bleed out times"
They just snuck it in. and dont get me wrong. I love this game as much as the next masochist but when your product in not playable doesnt mean you should ignore the issues at hand.
This company clearly doesnt give a damn about it fan base.
All they want is money. They make so much of it and its inexcusable that they give us piss poor servers and terrbile updates that alway leave the game in a much more broken state.
I get it. We all love this game but its because we love the game so much we want it to work....
BHVR stop releasing stuff and go into hiatus and rebuild the game with a better stable engine. You ll have less work load and a better handle in fixing the game.

My personal opinion is that Fortnite is bad for 2 reasons, 1. the community, which is has a higher ratio of children to adults then FNAF (which is saying a lot) and 2. Fights boil down to "who has more materials" instead of "who can aim better"

I tried two games as killer today, I couldn't see hook auras when carrying a survivor. I'm no longer playing killer until this is fixed.

With respect, when you can't see Generators, or hooks. It doesn't matter how skillful you are. You may as well go face the corner.

The fights are meant to be different than just a “shooter,” so you’re right faster building is more important but strategy and aim still plays a role.
Ad far as the community even with all the kids it’s still less toxic than DBD honesty. The only time someone would teabag or dance in your is after a kill, Plus there isn’t any endgame chat.

There are free to play game that at least have a maintenance team I don't think DBD has one that is why there is a PTB. All aura reading is trash to go with bad fps they got millions of dollars but can only update two times every quarter is unacceptable.

I was about to start a new thread but I saw this one.. I had taken a break for ~ 3 weeks only to come back to this nonsense.
Remember when gen auras were an issue on Ormond? So it's basically we are back to that, except it's on every map, and every type of aura. Amazing.
People are saying this is a QA issue and not a deliberate change? I really fail to see that. Any person in QA that is not brand new could tell the auras were changed and too faint. Not buying it.
and yeah i'm definitely not bothering with this game again until i can see auras.. I played Trapper and needed a ######### magnifying glass to see my traps.. ridiculous

Yeah, I've just kinda doubled down on SCP SL, its free and the updates are far better performed. I don't understand how a free to play game made by fans can have better maintenance than something like DBD.

Yeah I can't play with them the way they are. I have trouble see in the dark as it is, but this just made it worse. And the devs claiming it wasn't intentional to change them this much is pretty ballsy.

I had to quit as well. Being physically incapable of seeing auras just makes every match frustrating and unfun for everyone involved.

It’s really taken away BBQ and Nurses calling from me as killer AND it’s hindered my use of Bond, Kindred and detectives hunch as survivor

I'm playing a lot more survivor than killer since the aura screwup. I also put off buying the rift until this is fixed.
