Is Torment a status effect?

Based on the way Pyramid Head's power is worded, it hints at Torment being considered a status effect, but it doesn't have the little red indicator that other effects like Mangled, Oblivious, Madness, etc. have. Does the coding regard it as a status effect or more like being asleep or sick?

It is not listed as a status effect on the wiki

It doesn't have a negative effect on its own but it lets Pyramid Head choose more options on how to deal with Survivors.

I'd not consider it a status effect.

I'd consider it the same as being asleep or sick.

Maybe you could even classify all of these as 'secondary' health states? Primary health states would be healthy, injured and dying. Broken would be a weird mix of status effect and primary health state.

That's based on that secondary health states appear on the same spot on HUD as primary health states. So they include: tormented, asleep, sick, pig trap, ghostface mark. Odd one would be doctor's madness, another mix of primary and status effect.
