Why was Jane's Greek Legends cosmetic a set?
I just want to know why the decision was made for only Jane and not any of the other survivors in the collection. Also it doesn't make much sense stylistically but then again neither do any of the other survivor cosmetics. There is also the issue I have with this set being called "legendary" when it is extremely plain.

It's a dress, and would most likely look super stupid as separate parts.

Maybe they didn't like how that Lunar Event dress looked for Feng way back because it kinda looked whacky when you mixed it. Although someone like me would say that is part of the fun and makes cosmetics more enjoyable. I guess they just really don't like splitting things up anymore, like with that Nea set we had after we had the Bunny Feng with the hood being it's own thing. Sets make things look cleaner but kinda just bloody suck.

I think the OP was more aiming about the face who has absolutely no point to be linked to the outfit. Kinda like every weapon of killer sets.

Maybe there's no way to have a full outfit that has 2 parts linked and the 3rd part mix-and-matchable? Because yeah I agree that head would look good on other outfits.. or other heads could look good with that dress.

But devs advertized a set to be 2 or more pieces of a skin.
They either didn't managed to do a two pieces set. (code wise or smth Im not a dev).
Or it's easier to grab money that way.

True. And I'm sure lots of people would buy the head on its own without the dress, or the dress without the head, rather than the full set.

I'm just not a fan of the concept of legendary cosmetics in general. I can understand the ones for Cheryl since they're essentially making her a different character but I like to be able to mix and match stuff. 8/10 I only like 2 of the items (hair, top, bottoms) anyway. I feel that nearly 1,500 auric cells is a bit much for a cosmetic. Like you're paying around $15 for a cosmetic which to me is crazy. I do enjoy cosmetics and have no problem supporting the game but I can't help but feel some prices for some cosmetics are a bit steep 😬

the head be nice on it own.
3 -
Yeah.. pretty crazy to charge $15 for an outfit when most characters are like $3. I mean some of them look amazing.. but it's still a lot of money, especially for killer cosmetics that you don't even get to see while playing.

That's one reason I hardly play killer or buy cosmetics for killers. I like to be able to SEE the outfit I payed shards/cells for. I feel like they could lessen the prince of cells or make it so you can earn auric cells like you do shards
2 -
Same. Only killer cosmetic I paid money for is the Nurse's World War outfit (as part of some DLC pack, the whole thing was like $3 or something though) but yeah.. the rest of the killer cosmetics I use are either their default/prestige ones, or ones I got for free on the rift.
I got a few survivor cosmetics I liked, but most were bought with shards. Don't recall paying actual money for any of the survivor outfits I got, but it would be more worth paying money on a survivor outfit I can see during gameplay than a killer one only the survivors get to see (aside from looking at it in the lobby I guess).

I use shards when I can but for the most part all the outfits I like cost actual cells which is super annoying. I think they purposefully make it so you have to pay money for the cute cosmetics and for the less cute ones you can pay with shards 🤣 oh well what can ya do though I guess
1 -
Yeah it seems that way, too. The ones they know won't get them any money are usually sold for shards.. and the awesome looking ones are money only. Makes sense in a business kind of way but still annoying at times. Luckily, the body part I use on my main was part of an ugly set where that part was the only good looking one, so I got it for shards and matched it with better looking head and legs haha

Sets are the most annoying thing they’ve done lately, nobody cares if someone wants to wear a stupid looking outfit, it only affects that person and if it makes them happy, then so what? bhvr keeps trying to die on stupid hills.
bugs and such can be fixed, paying for sets is final

Feng Min has a dress that does look awkward in any other configuration, but at least it has the option.

This. Or, give an Iri shard price on all non-licensed cosmetics, because having the option to earn something is better than not having it at all.

well fair for me
since killer one are set too

I know its a dress but its the only dress in the game that is a set and it just had to be for my main Jane. Even though we have so many sectioned dress cosmetics if they plan on making all dresses sets then I feel as though the designs of the dresses should be more ambitious as well. A very frustrating example is Megs rift cosmetic. Its absolutely beautiful and I would be completely ok with it being a set and having to buy it. However how tf is it a premium rift reward and sectioned? Compared to Janes "legendary" set it makes absolutely no sense. The developers dont even have to make full on dresses just as much as they dont have to make characters that are wearing hoods. Its a very poor excuse for set cosmetics. If all of them are going to be legendary then they should look legendary. Im really beginning to think that this is solely just a new way for the devs to make money off of us and I dont mind giving them money I truly dont but give me a reason to buy this stuff thats all I want instead of trying to finesse me XD
2 -
yes but because the devs chose to design it this way they are purposely making it a set cosmetic. they dont have to make dresses and might I remind you every other dress in the game is in separate parts.........

While it is arguable that using the seperate top or skirt of the dress would look stupid, the thing is, unlike Nea's Set, this one actually would be totally fine seperated. The head would look great with other outfits, the top could tuck into her pants/skirts, and maybe even the skirt could be worn with her Day of the Dead torso if done correctly. Claudette, Feng several times, and most recently Meg have dresses that can all be mix-and-matched whether the user wants to or not...

Well I agree with you 100% Jane's outfit isn't a legendary nor was it advertised as one. It's just a linked to cosmetic
Legendary cosmetics the whitish blue rarity the only legendaries we have so far are Lisa and the Minotaur granted both of those have their own problems but not the point

bhvr don't understand fashion
2 -
ah ok I was under the impression that it would be a legendary cosmetic.

Well its not bhvr fault that someone decides to mix and match cosmetics in a whacky way. The option to do so, to make your own unique variant of a character you play, is a huge part of why people still play the game. I love the top and the hair to Fengs CNY dress they go well with other things. I will say that the skirts are usually terrible with anything but there is not much they can do. Unless bhvr were to design outfits with that particular character previous outfits in mind so that a majority of the cosmetics would match up and look good together. Though thats asking bhvr to treat each survivor's cosmetics like their wardrobe instead of thematic releases.

No Legendary changes the character model completely. Jane's is just a very rare linked cosmetic set.

Yeah I know now, its actually a missed opportunity to make Jane an actual Greek Goddess instead of just Jane in a white dress. I think I was more focused on the them being Greek "Legends" than it being a legendary set and then mixed up the two.

second that man, i use a very similar one to that.
and the other half of the time this set lol

It's beautiful

i think you know what i meant but ok you made me lol.

So, um... yeah... but this is okay to wear right?

Regarding Jane's set it's probably a limitation on how you buy things. Sure they could have just the dress parts linked and the head separate however while it's an entire set I imagine BHVR currently cannot have it so that two items are forced to be purchased at once in a set while the third part isn't if people wanted to do that. So the easier solution was simply to make all three parts part of a set. If they weren't a set aside from the linked parts someone may buy part of it and be unable to equip it because they don't own both parts.
Something along those lines granted this is mostly speculation.

I think some of the Legendary cosmetics look great! Nea's graffiti artist and Oni's minotaur outfit primarily.
But most of these Greek legenda ones like David, Jane and Yui really don't need to be tied together. Janes dress maybe due to clipping issues.
As a killer I prefer full sets, but if I can't mix and match a survivor set its a no buy for me.

Thats fine. However, they shouldn't have put that sets are "2 or more cosemtic pieces" in their patch notes then.
