They fixed them?

Im on xbox one and mine are fixed.
They look like the old auras

You mean, broke them? I can barely see the auras. I have literally stopped using BBQ and Kindred because I can't make sense of the auras.

They reverted the aura changes today.

Auras are back, or at least they look almost like the old auras. (They're even brighter now)

As of like an hr ago they dropped the new hotfix. The auras are back to normal.
There exactly how they use to be

they look great now.

It's so much better! I loved the style of the previous version, but definitely prefer the brightness of what they are right now.

Too bad they don't care about the colourblind community when it comes to auras.
1 -
They do care @Brady and hopefully they will be able to address that particular issue in the future.
FYI I'm also colour blind so I do completely understand!
5 -
Please don't change the auras, they look great now.

There a very simple solution. Let us customise the aura colours, or just create presets to choose from in the settings that deal with Deuteranopia, Protanopia, and Tritanopia respectively. Its been 4 years in which you "cared about colourblind people".
6 -
it wasn't because it looked bad (most people liked the style of it) it was because it was way too dark.

I as well did like the style of the previous version of auras, the problem came on brighter colored maps was really hard to see people / things from far away.
Anywho thanks a bunch.
Any chance flashlights pov are fixed? I havent had a chance to test it out

As someone with both Deuteranopia and Protanopia, that restrictive of options would be very concerning to me. Otherwise I'm all for it.

The reason why I suggested presets is because the developers most likely wont let us freely choose auras colour for the sake of "balance".

I think the current one after hotfix are better than before 4.1.0
I guess you can see more polygons of characters etc
Absolutely love it though <3

Same I really liked bbq:(

Edit wait they fixed it now?

As of the 4.1.1 hotfix yes.

This content has been removed.

Yeah, with all due respect I don't think they do or they would have had colourblind options since launch like most games do...

The colorblind issue has been inquired about, even on dev Q&A's, since the release of the game, and nothing has ever been done.
"They do care".
Citation needed.

My Deerstalker, Nurse's Calling and Discordance greatly thank the Devs for BRIGHT'ing their night ❤🥴

I can finally play again thank you so much.

AAAAANNNNDDD they've had 4 years to do it. They can implement an MMR, the Emblem System, hundreds of cosmetics, hundreds of dollars worth of DLCs...but they can't do colorblind options, on an engine like Unreal 4 with the technology built in. Meaning while it's still work, it's not "an immense challenge".
Also - if anything you said was a real concern, DBD wouldn't be an officially endorsed title on Geforce Experience, and Reshade would be bannable. It's not.

We are talking about colour blind options for auras here, auras are not supposed to be hidden, but are way harder to see for colourblind users. Also the new update seemed to make the auras even more bright than usual, switching to any colour other then red would not make much of an impact to visibility for non colourblind players at this point. But if you do think otherwise please do explain, because I am curious to know why you think auras should be harder to see when it doesn't look like that was ever the intent of the devs.

How exactly would allowing players to change the colors result in an unfair advantage?
If literally everyone has access, then it's not exactly unfair is it? Auras aren't supposed to be hard to see, and if you're having trouble seeing them? Then colorblind or not, I see no issue with allowing you to change the color to make things easier for you. Everyone else would have the same capability, so...
If anything, right now colorblind players are being subjected to an unfair disadvantage because we have more difficulty seeing auras that players with normal vision have no issue seeing.
Edit: I'm dumb. I didn't see your second post (thought it was someone else). So ignore me entirely lol. Sorry about that.
I do want to thank BHVR for at least changing the auras back rather quickly. I still can't see blood, and auras still aren't... great, but this is better than before by far. So thanks for that. At least I can play now.

This. Changing the colors of scratchmarks and auras ain't gonna ruin the game's balance. This whole lack of color blindness options just makes BHVR look like real douchebags. They'd earn so much player good will if they implemented it.
2 -
And I said that if that were a concern, BHVR wouldn't have partnered with Nvidia to allow DBD to be used with Geforce Experience, and Nvidia Freestyle filters by association.

Indeed it's much better ^^ i think the issue for the previous one was that it went more and more invisible the more and more walls are between you and the aura.
I remember being able to see an aura when in the middle of nothing and if a tree "blocked" it, it would just disappear (kinda like when using Bond and people are in you POV you don't see their auras.

TBH lets talk Auras shall we!! Please.
Auras are not a "natural" thing in gaming because it becomes an outline of the player or the killer on the map. Something that is not visually rendered in by the game's Graphics engine. So we have a large discussion coming up here.
Problems with "Auras": This can come off as WALL HACKING. For when any playable character's body is outlined beyond render'd objects. For Example BBQ and Chili, Bond, and a bunch of others. What makes this dangerous for this game is. It becomes CRUTCHING when any point in time a player can see one another.
Dynamically. What makes this game more or less difficult? I run things like HEX: the third seal. In order to hinder survivor rescues to a degree. If a player is in coms with their 4-man team. guess what. it is very likely that this perk is not useful at all.
Sandbaggers excessively use bond. That is another issue in this game.
----
So what degree do we have here. Where Auras make the game too easy for players? Should we actually talk about hardcore modes where Aura playing isn't allowed? It might be feasible?

Dude Auras were in the base game. The meta on both sides is clearly geared towards aura reading. Survivor not as much, but ask any solo survivor and they will tell kindred should be base. If you want to call a integral game mechanic cheating be my guest. Just remember if Auras weren't a thing we would be looking at an incredibly different game.
