Switching from Game pass PC to Steam

I downloaded the game a couple days ago on the Game Pass for the PC, im thinking about buying new killers in the future, can i buy them on steam? If i can, can i transfer my account to steam, or my progress will be deleted? Anyone had a similar experience?
