Silent Hill
I continue to read posts about Midwich being poorly designed, for Killers and Survivors.
So I got to thinking, from the years I've played Silent Hill games. And if I'm remembering right. Midwich isn't even the worst location.
But then again why Midwich? (Aside Cheryl's connection)
If you were to think of the series of SH. What location other than Midwich would you have wanted? Or maybe a new map made of the SH series in the next chapter(s)?
- Toluca Prison. 🤔
- Lakeside Amusement Park. ❤
- Brookhaven Hospital.
- Room 302. ...🥴
5. Alchemilla Hospital
6. The Church of
Silent Hill
I'm gen'uinely curious

the school just happens to be the first really "horror" scene you encounter if i recall in silent hill 1 and the first real area you have a bunch of puzzles in one area

Should prefact this by saying I've never played or seen silent hill.
But an amusement Park sounds ######### sick. Imagine roller coasters that'd activate if you did the gens by them, and you could run across low tracks but the roller coasters could insta-down you if you ran across them at the wrong time. A hall of mirrors, a carousel, a ferris wheel to take you to a higher section and if the killer is chasing you they get in the cart just below you or could literally start climbing up; there are so many possibilities and I'd absolutely love a map like that in the game.

Midiwich is the most iconic. Most people havent heard of Silent Hill nowadays. Konami does not deserve anymore money from this game.

Forgive the insinuations of it's games.
I would love a Multi Tier levels map. 5 story buildings max height. And yea th ed Amusement Park location is my favorite. The scene does have rusted staircase and girders to traverse. Much like the one in Ironworks of Misery.

Lakeside Amusement Park would be awesome <3

Don't forget about the Borley Haunted Mansion :D

Again never played SH or seen the films so I have NO idea where that is.

Well then, fingers crossed we get an amusement park map because i'd ######### love that

I firmly believe they chose Midwich because it's the second most iconic location in the games, with the first being Alchemilla Hospital, but that map would've been too similar to Lery's.
I wish we had gotten the very streets of Silent Hill as a map instead. But it would have been hard to adapt because you either make it REALLY big or put a single house per block which would look stupid tbh. And probably kinda similar to Haddonfield/Springwood.

Room 302 doesn’t sound half bad
I kid, though that room has my favorite transformation into the other world, imo all the maps could be possibilities as the place is called “Silent Hill”

Well if it is going to be an amusment park I would've thought something like a circus of carnival themed style of it, but who knows.

This idea SHOULD HAVE been thought of considering The Clown

If I could take one map from each game and put them in the game, here's my thoughts:
Silent Hill: Nowhere - an actual region compromising of tangled segments of every previous region. It could be disorientating, but also add a nightmarish element.
Silent Hill 2: Lakeview Hotel - the dramatic endpiece has a lot of climatic areas, and an oddly nostalgic image that makes it feel like walking through a dream.
Silent Hill 3: Church - Dark, distressing and apocalyptic in looks, this disturbing, twisted building has many areas to chase and be chased.
Silent Hill The Room: Water Prison - A multifloored Hell of concrete, cells and torture rooms. A circulation room at the top can rotate the levels.
Silent Hill Origins: Greenfield Apartments - Spacious, with both outdoor and indoor areas to explore. Especially unsettling secret tunnels and spyholes abound.
Silent Hill Homecoming: Shepherd House - This could be a mainly outdoor map, with the foggy streets. However, the house could be a centre-piece like the school at Badham, especially with the Hellish interior.
Silent Hill Shattered Memories: Cauldecotte Woods - An icy, outdoor park area with a large lake, rangers hut and a few out-houses. If Friday 13th never made it, this would be a good substitute map for Friday 13th's camp area.
Silent Hill Downpour: Devil's Pit - A unique map, being it a map that is designed like an outdoor map, and yet actually be an indoor map! A couple of buildings, rock formations, caverns and even minecart tracks.

They should've done that with the beginning but if they want to make another circus themed chapter-(My dream chapter), I would like to see a big top tent with a few rides and little booths with games that you would see at a carnival or a fair, that is how I would imagine a theme park map

Completely agreed. The Clown was reason why I got DBD in the first place. And then the dissatisfaction with his chapel themed map. I mean ok. He himself is in hiding. Traveling by cart (and sickly horse). But come on. What a rehash of Asylum 🥴 like really. Missed opportunity much

I think I'm in Lust with you 🥴❤

They reall did, hopefully we get that theme park map some day, and when we do, well I'll drink to that.

If you're refering to the Lustful Lips monster in Silent Hill 2 (or Flesh Lips), please could you kindly refrain from chocking me to death with your feet before dragging me up to the ceiling. I imagine that hurts :p
