Suggestion on something to replace ECG,... sort of.
End Game Collapse has brought tons of SALT to this game over the course of this last year. When a killer can STOMP the hatch closed. It seams kind of cheep. So from a killer standpoint. We should be able to CLOSE the exit gates again, then!! (ECG stands for "End Game Collapse".)
Not fair, right survivors?!
So my new suggestion stems from this idea - CONTRACT TIMER just like Hunt: Showdown has. We get 60 minutes to complete the contract or our lives are taken in that game. So I understand back in the day, we had the good old game of "Hatch stand off" and some popular youtube videos show just how long that can go. The killer stood on the hatch and the survivor had no way of completing the match. Either party had to give up or DC to allow the game to END.
Today, that problem STILL exists. I get those matches where I've locked the match down to 3 generators (With 1 generator required completion) and 2 survivors remain. They all don't want to give up, I don't want to give up. AND the match can last a VERY long time!! So the problem was NEVER solved! (maybe mitigated at most)
So here is what went WRONG with the FIRST iteration before ECG.
- The killer could grab survivors trying to exit down the hatch. AFTER ECG patching. This was removed. It still doesn't solve another issue.
Today's matches do NOT reward survivors for playing well. If their team is bad. They give up early. Because there is nothing offered at the end of the match, sort of as a reward for at least playing. So they resort to pulling on the hook early and giving UP. I call this the lack of the "Instant Gratification monkey", that this game once had. (Or mice, cheese and a maze).
Lets just talk about this - (and you can certainly COMMENT and/or vent in the section below about how bad/good my thoughts are).
Exit Gates. are the big issue here.
- Often the game spawns the EXIT gates at a 90 Degree angle from one another. So a 1/4 section of the map is the small playing field for the killer. Once they hear the buzzer (the killer) or see the lights from a distance. They know that the exit gate has an activation time of 20 seconds and the survivor has less than 2 minutes to make a play. in that distance. Most killers can cover both gates in no time. as they have an average moving speed of 3.4-4.4 meters per second.
So this sounds like a FAIR argument here. That if we see lights (as the killer) we know the survivor is in the area, and can now find them.
Next...... --------------
We talk about changes to the game itself. Should/could BHVR interactive's staff consider we re-vamp the game and go with an expired contract timer, or just start ECG's timer that it has here and begin a timed trial?
- Would that be too much pressure for the survivors?
- Would that eliminate POINT FARMING?
- Would that be feasible to REMOVE hatch closing, and if killers want their secured killers. RUN NOED? :)
- What would be a FAIR timer? 1 hour, 1 1/2 hours? I mean to me, it sounds like a good safety net at 1 1/2 or 1 and a quarter-hours, so if people are standing around in the match. The server isn't being abused?
Thoughts, comments, answers? :-D

I mean, you're still working on the assumption that the EGC is a good idea. The best solution would be to have a 15 second hatch opening animation (like the doors) while not having the hatch open automatically, and this animation would also make a loud (creaking of steel?) sound just before the end of the animation just as the doors' animation does.
The killer can close the hatch when it is open. The killer can perform hatch interruptions, both on the opening animation and the jumping-in animation. The killer can see the aura of the hatch when it is unlock-able.
I think that solves most if not all of the problems.
