Please keep this alive with comments or something, but no more fnaf posts!
I love fnaf, and would love Springtrap in the game. I also respect people that do not want him in the game. But for the love of God shut up about it! It's heartbreaking, for lack of a better word, to see people get turned off the idea because of these posts that show up every day made by kids that don't know what they're talking about. Please, it you want him in the game, just go sign the petition. No need to spam the forums.

Agreed, this has gotten out of hand.

Same can be said with the multiple posts concerning... well anything recently topic. Instead they dont go through the entire Discussion Section to see if Likeminded topics have already been brought up. Instead they make a brand new topic of that same shared topic.
What's to stop them? 🤷♂️

There will always be crazy people who jump to their own conclusions. But if you were to lend me a monster truck I would happily run over those individuals in full speed😀.

I’m going to make a FNAF post next Thursday, just to spite you.

I honestly see more posts talking about the Fnaf posts than actual posts asking for it.

You snake.

I still have no idea how an animatronic character with a backstory so obscure that most people don't even know it's also supernatural would ever be a good fit for a game about a lovecraftian god pitting human killers against each other. It's a jumpscare robot, not a demon or monster or twisted serial killer. Unless they ripped the corpse out of it's chassis and had that as the killer, it would just look awful and take you right out of the game.

Springtrap is a child murderer, and I'm sure the design team would come up with something good.

I agree.
It's okay to be vocal and support something you like, but as you said, it's gotten out of hand. I don't mind people adding some new perspective to the conversation, but whenever a forum post is created regarding FNaF, its always "FNaF person creates an argument (of varying quality), people don't even bother to read it cause 'FNaF is cringe', FNaF fans defend their series, the other people fight back, etc".
It always ends in a painful stalemate where no body wins. If someone has something groundbreaking to add to the discussion, then its not as annoying, but I can't think of much that hasn't been talked about in some regard.
I heard (in a YT comment section, so take this with a grain of salt) that one of the devs said they would go crazy if they heard another suggestion for FNaF (McLean, I think). This should NEVER happen, there's a fine line between being supportive and being annoying, and I feel like its been crossed. I'll always like and defend the idea of a FNaF chapter, but it's important to know when we're running in circles, and doing more harm than good.
No side of the argument is 100% innocent or correct. People who like FNaF can sometimes overstate FNaF's accomplishments, or ignore its flaws. Some people who dislike the idea will just state "No" and "FNaF is cringe" without giving the games or the idea a fair chance. It's odd how some people will completely ######### on DbD whenever the devs screw up once, but when we're talking about FNaF, all of the sudden, DbD is this "Golden gem, bedazzled with diamonds, that oozes class and prestige, where only the absolute cream of the crop even stand a chance of getting into DbD". That's not saying everyone who supports these sides are like this, but it's a good enough chunk to make the discussion unfun for everyone.
We, as a community, fail to respect each others opinions, and disagree with someone politely, as well as fail to remove our personal bias when it is necessary to see something from a different perspective. This is why the same threads pop up all of the time on the forums regarding controversial perks, characters, concepts, etc, and is also probably a contributing factor as to why none of these issues get fixed. If you like the idea of a FNaF chapter, and want to see it in the game, then great! If not, no big deal.
However, I think it's time for this debate rest for now, and wait atleast a few months before bringing up the idea again. Let it serve as an example as for what NOT to do if we decide to revisit the idea down the line.

Cause you know it’s hard out here for a pimp, tryin to earn a dollar for the rent. With the Cadillac gas money spent, we got a whole lotta fnaf wishin gone and went.

No, the dude possessing Springtrap is a child murderer. Springtrap is an animatronic suit that really doesn't fit the themes of supernatural horror. I'm not saying that all the killers in DBD do as well, Demogorgon is a pretty big "Huh?" as well.

At the risk of sounding like a nerd, No body possesses him, he is in that suit. He got crushed by springlocks and sat in a room for 30 years. It's pretty interesting, you should look it up.

I did, it's a corpe inside an animatronic suit possessed by the guy that used to be the corpse. And it's not even a core part of the FNAF experience, it's such an obscure piece of trivia that most people that played those games don't even know.

I haven't checked in on the series in a while, but William afton is the big bad of fnaf. The third game was all about hi m.

Well before the posts on the forum started I had never heard of FNAF before despite consuming a rather broad variety of Horror media.
At first glance, it looks stupid as ######### to put it mildly. In an exchange with another forum member I got convinced to at least check it out a bit more, so I did.
Given my very low expectations, it was suprisingly good. It makes for a neat story despite the games being quite monotonuos.
For its goofy looks and rather plain backstory, I still don´t like it too much. I can see why people do though, yet I´m convinced it just doesn´t deserve a spot in DBD.
If you guys manage to get a pretty much unknown franchise that doesn´t offer much imo into DBD, more power to you, I respect your wishes.
But OP is so right - it won´t help your case to spam the forums with mostly low-effort posts just to cry for attention. Everyone has read enough of them, everyone knows there are people that want it, there´s no point in continuing these posts other than annoying everyone.

My main issue is people who say "you're toxic" or other lines like that when I disagree with them about it. Apparently to some people, not wanting fnaf in the game is being toxic? Ok then.
