Child's Play
I never really liked the movie Chucky, because it actually terrified me as a kid, but considering it as a playable character sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not sure if this something the community would be interested in, but based on the plotline of the movie, here's my idea of how the character could work in dead by daylight.
When the trial starts, 10 chucky dolls would placed throughout the map in random places, with each doll being controllable by the killer, whenever it's the currently selected doll. So, the killer could cycle through each one and move them separately, however... each doll is only able to move if no survivors are currently watching it, i.e. facing it, while standing still. If chucky is caught moving, then he has 30 to 60 seconds to put the survivor into the dying state, or else the killer loses a doll on the map. If the killer successfully attacks a survivor without the survivor spotting them, he automatically puts the survivor into the dying state. When he finally does put a survivor into the dying state, instead of picking them up, he inhabits their body like he aims to do in the movies, and walks the survivor over to a hook, which they 'place' themselves on. Preferably by jumping. The survivor can still wiggle to rid themselves of chuck'y spirit. Also, to aid chucky along the way, each doll not currently inhabited can function like a watchful eye and report nearby survivor auras back to the doll the killer is currently inhabiting.
Chucky's weapon would be the chef's knife of course

@apropos , @TWiXT created a killer similar to the concept that you have. You can take a look at it below

Holy cow, that's really fleshed out. My idea was more or less a fleeting thought, but I guess I should have searched the boards to see if the concept had already been suggested. Well, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who would like to see a killer doll added to the game.

The concept you came up with was "shockingly" similar to mine, but you know what they say about "great minds..." It's always nice to find out that there are others on similar wavelengths, and I totally agree with you and Iceman: a killer doll/dolls should get their chance to terrify survivors in this game.

They were sort of destined to be similar, don't you think? I mean, how many ways do you think the doll killer archetype could be implemented in a game with DbD's ruleset? You can't do it with a single doll, so there must be many, and the player has to be able to control all of them, ergo cycling through them. Truth is, none of this is really original, and most ideas here are bound to have 'collisions' as any of them will be an extension or derivation of some sub-genre of horror movies. These 'ideas' are really more like suggestions.

Very True, Originally I submitted an idea for a mean little pygmy/fetish doll killer with an Aztec theme and a survivor who was a stripper by trade but now being picked on in the fog by the little terror. He had a makeshift spear, and his power was to summon the entity to lock-down a generator for 150 seconds by having the entity wrap its spider appendages around it, and he could do that to the hatch as well, but doing so meant he couldn't use his power again. Similarly he had to be able to deal with the grass being Corn height to him, so he had the ability to see through it with a lens in the middle of his vision that rendered it transparent. Overall the only thing worth salvaging from that idea was the perks, one of which was incredibly OP, but also a Hex so it was counter-able. That and I liked the idea of the little jerk cutting out a survivors heart, drinking from it, holding it above his head and lighting it on fire while laughing as his mori animation, but the devs really tone down gore in this game. Overall though he still would've had the major flaw of being easily looped, and without being able to vault it would've sucked. With the Current idea I drew from the concept of "red light, green light" as a mechanic for the killer and how to make it scary. If it was just one killer, they'd be useless, but multiple potential killers? Suddenly its a series of mind-games and ambushes.
Hardest part with my current concept was balance, and even though I did what I could others have pointed out the major flaw I still stupidly overlooked: SWF. 4 person SWF against the dolls would group up and crowd each generator while watching all directions making it so that the dolls can't get close enough to hit anyone. So, I'm now considering adding a time-limit to how long they can be transfixed for before they can just bum-rush the survivors transfixing them, or making it so that they have to focus a narrower cone of vision on a doll to transfix it so another can rush in. Still a WIP, but I hope its good enough that the devs at least like it and draw from it for ideas of their own, which is what we all want when we submit these things really.

Man, that generator ability would be awesome. It's balanced too, because the killer should be penalized in some way to gain such a large benefit. Killers need something, the struggle against gen rushing is real. But yeah, the doll thing doesn't seem like it can work, the more I think about it. I really think that if there is a doll killer, it has got to have a mechanic like that red light green light idea, because what makes dolls scary is a person's naive trust in them being inanimate objects.
It really would bbe hard to implement, because what stops a survivor from just watching them constantly? Nothing. And you're right about the generators, they could just face away from it and prevent anyone from running up, which they can easily do while standing still which breaks my concept. I guess that's why I went with chucky, because he does let people see him move, but once he's exposed as being more than a doll, they fight to get rid of him. But with looping, survivors could easily get rid of all the dolls on the map if they disappeared 60 seconds after being seen moving.
I like the idea of affecting survivor vision, like maybe the dolls, due to their nature of being somewhat like trinkets, could place traps on generators that temporarily blind people when they try to interact with them. Survivors could also start feeling scared of generators because they are inanimate objects, just as the dolls are supposed to be.
Anyways, I like where you're going with the ideas, and I hope you keep working on them. It's awesome that you give so much attention to fleshing out the finer details.
