Auto Shop Class
Seriously though, we got Claudette to teach Medical Emergency Care. So why not have the next survivor. A Mechanic.
We can call him Bud (last name pending) he can have the equivalent to Claudette's Self-Care perk, to be teachable, to work as equivalent to Med-kits, with Toolboxes. Brown or yellow level skill. And speaking of skill. This perk of the mechanic. Eliminate All Skill Checks in different tiers. OR. Widens the Great Skill Checks by percentage.
Like I suggest. Just a Mechanic with the equivalent to Self-Care when it comes to gens and BNP 🤷♂️?

I have an idea about this after reading it, just concept though and can be reworked.
reduce how fast you lose charges when using a toolbox on a generator by 10%/13%/16%
increases skillcheck size by 5%
Let me explain why I did some of this, it would be confusing to reduce default gen speed so I didn’t do that and kept the efficiency idea from SC, converting that into the perk. I added the Skillcheck size increase as if you were a mechanic, shouldn’t it be easier to work on a generator than people who are not mechanics?
I could tweak numbers but just an idea

I always hated math so I didnt truly factor in any. But as said, Claudette can self heal without a medkit. So I figured. There auto-be (bad jokes) a Toolbox Gens expert like a Mechanic. Without the need for bring in a toolbox. But not made OP. So yeah, great checks with a perk widens it more than anything any of the other survivors can get

But THIS is a good start. I like your idea add-on

I could change something that makes it works sorta like pharmacy or something, like having a perk that allows him to get a toolbox out of a chest, but that could also be one of his other perks. Its actually a pretty interesting idea to have a mechanic survivor so I might actually work on perk ideas for this

I mean every survivor can work on a generator. The other option the toolbox grants you is sabotaging hooks which is again possible with a perk.

Bud Wurstner?

know who we could excellently use for this? Survivor versions of Billy or Deathslinger...

So I did the comparing and if you can already hit great checks this perk is 5%/7%/9% worse than Streetwise, depending on perk tiers (Streetwise is 15%/20%/25% AND it isn't limited to toolboxes only).
That would need a Heck of a buff ngl

I didn’t know the numbers for streetwise gonna be honest

If it helps now you got the numbers?

My phone died so I couldn't answer anything til now, but as is, Jake is the handy saboteur. I'm looking at ideas for a Mechanic is all. It doesnt need to be complicated. Just look at Claudette. An apothecary at heart. She's the healing factor of the game. For herself and others. The main have unique set of skills. None in what the main goal is. Which is fixing generators (that to be fair look like engines) which a mechanic idea comes to mind. Hell. There that piece of wood with quickly written instructions to add-on. Who can't say the Mechanic isn't that person ? It can fit the lore. 🤷♂️

Nah Billy killed him and assumed the alpha mechanic... That's why there's a auto repair reaper Billy
