im trying to get adept killer and its impossible to get the highest chaser emblem once i hook them i leave and chases arent long and it says the shorter the higher and every match i get all red but that one and i cant get any higher than silver. am i doing something wrong?

It's dumb but use basic attack more than downing them with single chainsaw hit. Will raise your survivor hit score.

Use speed limiter. It will boost your chances. You should be able to catch survivors who get a speedboost.

It's not even with him like even with ghostface I get regular hits
