Mods have gone silent, probably told to? And no word from devs either.
So for the first day of MMR the mods tried to play damage control, until their stories started contradicting each other. People were even posting old threads were the same dev said something totally opposite of what they were claiming currently.
Now, unless I’ve been missing them all in the flood of threads, the mods have basically shut up. And BHVR hasn’t released any statements even on twitter about MMR.
My guess is someone finally said, “look the more you guys talk the stupider it’s looking and the deeper the hole gets,” and issued a kind of gag order.

That's probably what happened. Mods and Devs gotta be careful on the forum, nothing will be forgotten so whatever they say better be true or it will backfire. It's always like that when something bad happened, they remain silent and "focus on solving the issue" rather than openly communicate with us what's going on.
Almost as if they want to pretend that nothing is wrong and then suddently come up with a fix like
Hey guys, here are 10 new skins that you can buy for 21'600 Auric Cells! Ohh and another thing, you may have noticed by now that the MMR is not working as expected. We're doing our best to fix that issue soon(tm). XOXOXO!

Developments and moderation isn't so much about shutting up your staff or gag orders. It's about making sure everyone has the right story, and that not too much is said. This is just the nature of development. Right now the goal seems to have been to start by defending the changes a bit, and then watching to see how things turn out after a bit of time. If things continue to be highly disliked by the community over an extended period of time, then THAT is when we may see a developer intervention to make some adjustments. But as of now, it's for the best for everyone to just be patient and play. There are bound to be some issues with the matchmaking from the start, but these SHOULD be sacrifices in the short term for the betterment of long term matchmaking once the system can better calculate where you stand. We'll have to wait and see, though. As for Roobnus, the same concept applies. Developers often remain silent because everything in game development is subject to extreme change. If players come to expect one thing but receive another, it's only cause for further unrest.

Yeah pretty obviuos that's what's going on. The dev Almo's post that your MMR should already be calculated if you've been playing recently was a huge mistake because - either that's not true, or the system was broken to start with.

What is this “bit of time,” people keep using as an excuse? The mods and devs themselves said approximately 10 games to get balanced... and if you don’t wanna believe me that I’ve played more than that then watch a streamer who plays literally hours every day, yet still gets paired against cleverly new players who are still showing rank 19 with like 1 perk.

Can you please address the console problems after 4.1.0, though? It was never acknowledged so far.

The mods are not to blame here, they simply communicate to us what they've been told. It must be frustrating to be the middle man between this community and some of the devs, not being able to give correct feedback (if any feedback at all) while constantly getting spammed and flamed. Buuuut that's their job after all ... HAHA :)

I believe it's not their job, it's something they do in their free time. I believe only the community managers are BHVR employees.

then why has the community's outrage over their matches not been addressed? except by it is working perfectly and predicting match outcomes.... you're right MMR says low ranked players get to loose and high ranked players have no challenge. that's a GREAT answer right there and it is driving people away from the game. I've seen seasoned vets who play at minimum 10 matches a day get rank 20's that are 2-50 hours in game and they are rank 4 or better with 1000+ hours in game... how is that fair? TELL me how this is working? if someone is brand new in an MMR system they should never be ranked with anyone high ranked... ok example the rank 2 survivor i watched last night with almost 2500 hours in game and the killer with 2 hours in game , the survivor mmr for the demogorgon should be high say "10" since we have no idea what the mmr scales with, and the 2 hour killer should be MMR of "0" this should never be a match EVER.
I JUST got decimated by ranks 1-3 survivors and then yelled at be cause I used an ebony mori to accomplish my challenge. and they kept attacking me for no reason when i didn't attack them first. ######### this, if i keep getting matches like this i'm not playing or using the 4K auric cells i have! I mean sheesh i love playing as i only play sparingly because it gets me raging, but normally after not playing for 2 days i can go several matches but one damn match and the toxic red ranked community who think they are the best crap that don't stink made me pissed. my match.... over so quickly i got TWO hooks out of it... i'm a great killer? nope not at all and i don't claim to be i say i'm fair to ok as a killer...

Not their job, but it is a position they wanted and applied for. You don’t get the title, benefits, whatever and then when something bad happens get to say “don’t shoot the messenger.”
You see people like this all the time in the real word too, taking credit for good things or being thrilled to give good news then when it hits the fan they’re like “not my fault.” yes I realize DBD at the end of the day is just a game.

Fair point, but it’s not just the MMR that had gone silent. Almost two weeks now since a lot of people bought duplicate perks from the shrine and didn’t get points... multiple threads opened in the bug forum... and not a word from them.

Nope, I think you'll find I didn't. I think you'll also find quite a few posts where I was saying how much I struggled with the aura's due to the fact I'm colour blind and as soon as I had information that we were making a change, I posted that here.
With regards to MMR, I know it's being looked at to see where it's not working perfectly on our side and that's all the information I have right now.

completely unrelated, sorry, but a lot of people don't know this, if you have an nvidia card with geforce experience you can press alt+Z and apply game filters to any supported game, there are color blind filters which may help, could help on other games too, again sorry for the derail, i'll slide back into my bush now

Regarding the MMR this is the first time anyone has fessed up that it's not working correctly. That's all anyone was asking for, or at least a lot of us.

I do appreciate that, it's something that I was just made aware of - I try to pass on information as quickly as possible. We have made some changes to our system on the backend, I believe there's further changes to come, but I don't have full information on that at this time...I like to wait until I have all the information available before saying anything about something, in case things do change.

you could just watch OhTofu latest YT video, he's rank 1 killer, first game three rank 20s and a rank 6 survs, same on Otz stream, he checks players hours, he had a 6 hour meg in his game, she got destroyed so she wasn't a smurf like chat though, it's borked, completely ruined the playing experience for a lot of people, me included

My apologies, I don't think I was clear in my response and that lead to confusion. Let me clarify...
When I said "you" I didn't mean you specifically as an individual, but mods/devs in general. Because I know other mods/devs most certainly responded with copypasted responses to the aura issue.
Again, i'm mostly neutral on the copypasting thing, I just found your response a bit odd since that seemed to be the go-to method of dealing with the aura issue while it existed lol.

@Halun apologies if we're having a misunderstanding. It's not my way to copy/paste replies, hence I merged a lot of threads so that the answer was done once...I only update when I have more information or if I can explain something further. I try to communicate as much information as I possibly can, for the sake of clarity...it is difficult sometimes though if we just don't have the information available. For example like in this MMR issue - we just had the information on this today, it did only come out this week so data has to get analyzed etc, the first thing I did was communicate it here...all of us would do the same.
And don't worry, I didn't take your comment personally. We're all on the same page with this - we all play the same game after all.
