For all you survivor players out there. Pro tip from a killer main.

If you are the last to die in a game and only get hooked once. Its your own fault. Dont blame the killer. Dont blame your team, blame yourself.

I am coming at you from a recent game as one of the few times I play survivor (yes red ranks, who cares), its vs an oni. I am the first to go down but not before a gen gets done. One of my friends (the reason I play survivor) goes down second after pulling me off the hook, this time 3 gens are left.

A long time passes where another gen gets done, Oni finds my friend again and downs him. Dragging him into the basement. Oni finds the remaining 3 survivors on a gen. Me thinking the others might have his attention decides to go for the save since no one besides me and my friend has actually gone for saves so far. I get downed after saving him and he runs off trying to do a gen. And still not a single other survivor is going for the save. The game ends for me and my friend getting hooked 3 times each respectively and the 2 others not having "taken" a single hook. They then end up dying on their first hook both of them.

My point is, if you actually want to win and escape, sometimes you have to bait the killer and possibly give him free hooks. Not like get downed instantly but get him to chase you someway, give him a free hit or something and let him think its an easy down. Its so easy to lose a game if only 2 people are getting downed over and over again.

Could I have looped Oni better. Likely. Could me and my friend have been less altruistic, yes but not by much considering the 2 others legit never left a gen. But if you are the better survivor you should use your "ressources" and the "tools" you have avaiable. And what ressources do you have? Your team. Are they true potatoes? Take a hit for them every once in a while it doesnt hurt to extend their chase. Make the killer drop the chase with them if they are one death hook and you arent.

Tl:DR its really not that hard to play slightly as a team, you should think about it if you dont wanna die on first hook.

True that. Basically what the Nea said. "You got caught I didnt". Yeah well we both died at 5 gens done, so we both got caught one of us just distracted the killer while the other sat on gens the entire game. With that gen speed someone could easily have taken a free down to give the others some breathing room instead of just ignoring your team.

Yeah , I can agree with this. Sometimes taking a hit when someone is being tunneled to break bloodlust alone can be a big help.

Or getting hooked if the survivor being chased is on death hook.

But this is the main reason so many people choose to SWF. Because it is rare for a rando to take a hit for you. I have watched many just sprint burst away when we are on a genny and I am injured instead of taking the hit and avoiding the injured person getting downed.

I always laugh at these type of threads.Cause the op always never wants to ever admit they never were at fault at anything and act like it’s always others😂.

I mean I did admit I could have played better but sure go off xD. I legit just said that had the others tried to go for saves or get the killers attention then 0 people would have died, instead everyone did.

But hey I gave the killer a GG wp and moved on.....well moved on to type here xD

Yep. I stopped playing with my swf group because they couldn't understand that everyone has to take agro and even a hook state or two from time to time. Nothing is more annoying than hearing your teammate complain that they died on their first hook.

Now I just play solo. At least if I have bad teammates I can chalk it up to that and just move on to the next game faster.

I did have a bit of a laugh, when I was trying to do a gen while the oni was nearby(could hear his tr, but the gen was like 80%) I was gen tapping it to stop making any noise. Then an injured dwight came running and started fully reparing the gen, making enough noise for the oni to instantly notice (had been repairing the gen for like 10% without notice). I had to facepalm at the moment xD.

But yeah I dont take the cheap insults to heart. As I said I mainly play killer, only play survivor with friends or if I have a daily. So if people wanna ignore it thats fine by me, making my killer games slightly easier xD. Just trying to make my survivor games a bit more fun is mainly what I was attempting here and to get people to not flame their team mates for dying early.

Dont blame you man. A few of my friends act like that and I basically only play with them if its a 4man. Because then I know which build setup I should run. Ill play a slightly more immersive build to make sure I dont get caught first or very often even. Just dont wanna run that kind of build with most other people I play with or the few times I play alone.
