My nerf idea for keys and mori

KEY NERF: Survivors who carry the key suffer from the exposed status and can be killed by the killer. So as a survivor who brings a key you'll wanna swap it in a chest for another item and then grab it later.

MORI NERF: Using a mori causes the hatch to open. Remove the hook requirement from Mori's as that leads to tunneling. Most killers would definitely think twice about a mori though if it could lead to the other three survivors escaping through the hatch.

Anyway what you guys think ?

    This is atrociously unbalanced.

Too unbalanced, imagine bringing a key by accident and let the killer make you a mori for free.

Yeah maybe keep the hook requirement for the mori, it's mean't to provide strong counterplay to both sides. As for the key nerfs you can avoid the mori and the exposed status most of the game by putting your keys in a chest and picking them up later. :)

    No...

Pink keys open hatch for 15 seconds

Purple keys only allow one survivor to escape

    Green keys stay the same

Pink Mori after all survivors have been hooked once

Green and Yellow stay the same

Yeah that does sound a bit harsh. Maybe make it so everytime you get hit you drop the key. I could see how exposed and mori may be a bit much.

I hate that suggestion for the new pink mori. Rather it be deathhook as that means you gotta hook that one toxic flashlighting pallet dropping dead harding annoyance to get your mori. When you finally do, assuming you do, most if not all the gens will be done. Your almost better off not bringing a mori at that point. The green one would be better then and the yellow one needs a buff since its beyond useless.

And it isnt harsh to let the hatch open after just one kill? Thats almost a guarranted loss all the time

Well if you mori someone when there is only two survivors left it's the same as before and if your losing the game you may be desperate enough to take the gamble.

This idea clearly isn't popular though and I am getting some good rebuttal so I am reconsidering it myself 😅

mori was already nerfed when mmr went live, the nerf just will take about a couple of months to come into full effect for most killers once every match is sweaty af when they hit their mmr cieling and a "good match" becomes only 1 or 2 kills and a 3k or 4k might happen if somebody screws up badly enough about once every few hundred matches. You need a weakest link to reall get use from amori, and with no weak links, you might as well not even have the mori and just use an offering to get a more favorable map like hawkins instead with short hook distance and easier time finding survivors.

If you like having a game to play, you should tread carefully with the moris and stop asking for more killer nerfs whether directly or indirectly. because it will not happen right away, mmr takes a while as well it takes the people themselves a little while to accept what they're experiencing won't change and to get tired enough of it. but sooner or later you'll start losing moderately skilled killers and then some of the lesser skilled ones depending on how the matchmaking compensates afterwards. That would over time trickle down to lesser skilled and eventually potato survivors, once the matchmaking would have to compensate when the sweatier killers are the ones more willingly to still play. That will be quite the I told you so moment. I honestly want it to happen at this point, because of threads like this since nothing is ever enough until the killer holds the survivors' hands tot he exit gate and holds the door open for them otw out.

    i preferr my own nerf:

    Key Changes:

    • Hatch only spawn when 1 survivor left, and when the doors are powered.
    • Delete Broken Key spawn chance from chest and Bloodweb.
    • After use a Dull or Skeleton key, instead of disappear, become into a Broken one.

    Moris Changes:

    • Cypress Mori (Allow to kill the last survivor, When the doors are powered allow to kill survivors you hooked atleast 2 times.)
    • Ivory Mori (Allow to kill the last survivor, When the doors are powered allow to kill survivors you hooked atleast 1 time.)
    • Ebony Mori (Allow to kill the last survivor, When the doors are powered allow to kill any survivor, no hooks needed.)

That indirectly would buff perks like NOED and endgame perks in general. I could definitely see some salt with those mori changes xD

that defeats the purpose of the hatch and the end game collapse, which was discouraging survivors from hiding forever and standoffs over the hatch wasting peoples' time.

well, you already can run noed and mori right now, the only exception is... you will not even have a chance to use the noed because killing them all before finish the gens.

my problem with moris is not even have the chance to finish the gens before the killer decide rush kills ignoring DS with the mori

Well I used an ebony mori on Freddy recently, I got a 3k but depiped since the survivors were so good to the point I couldn't second hook them so I totally agree. Also I prefer to mori the top player over the weakest link. Weakest link you get far more points by three hooking while with the top player thats probably not happening xD

Yeah but you need at least one hook, with your ebony rework you don't need any hooks at all. I like your cypress rework though and I wouldn't mind if they keep Ivory how it is :/

That's really the point of an ebony mori, especially against swf. remember that eventually most killers will no longer have weak links int heir matches once they hit their mmr ceiling. many people will stop playing, or stop playing killer and start adding onto survivor queue times instead if it becomes unfun for them. ebony mori probably should never be touched again. when the game came out, you could just mori everybody right away. That was an honest chitshow and unfair, the way it is now isn't since you still have to hook them, and then find them again against bodyblocking and borrowed time as well as new stuff like soul guard or whatever thats ieltn hill girl's perk is called. it's pretty good btw, been playing around with different builds lately and I liked it in some of the match situations I've been in on my survivor side lately.

about the mori ideas up there... a ebony mori needs to be useful, and in order to be useful you need a realistic chance to put it to use without the conditions being too difficult since map offerings would then be more practical for more advantageous maps. I like the ideas on the other moris though that you have from a balance angle if you limited cypress to one more survivor and ivory to two more with the same hook conditions you listed if they're going to require last survivor only for an any time kill. Ebony would need to allow you to kill somebody without having to work through the rest of them though, or it would be pointless and a waste of the bp in my opinion over an advantageous map offering which ironically would make it easier to power through some groups so long as mmr doesn't get in the way of that some day.

But then you could just use the green mori for the same effect without opening the hatch
