My take on the Springtrap in dbd. (Don't let up Fnaf Fans :D)
I'm loving how many posts I've seen and how many people have signed the petition for Springtrap to make it in the game. Almost hitting that 50k signatures!
I'd say it's not impossible at this point and very well might happen in the future if people keep asking for it.
As for those against it, the reasons are always terrible. You have your personal opinions ofc, but seriously?
The game is for kids? Try again.
Terrible fit? He's a dead body in the suit of an animatronic. Wait wait, kids game.
It's just a game of Jumpscares. Oh yeah its a big part of the game, but there's plenty of atmospheric sounds and stu- wait why does this matter for dbd? Think its just gonna turn into a point and click trial with jumpscares?
A majority of people on the discussions and votes are against it. I'm actually surprised to see this is untrue, while it has been pretty close on a few I think for has ruled over against a majority of the time. Also, check those signatures ;)
I'm sorry but unless the reason against it's more legit that what I talked about above, I don't plan on responding.
I would like to see more iconic horror make it in first, such as Chucky, Candyman, Pennywise, etc but I've been dumbfounded with the negative responses toward Fnaf in DBD.
But also still excited to see I'm not the only one who would like to eventually see this.

Also, we’re allowed to think it’s for kids because it IS. It’s a horror game marketed at kids.

People think Freddy’s lunge is BS and that none of the hits land, this is incorrect.
Freddy’s claws are really small, making them actually look like they missed even though it actually landed, for example, if Trapper was in the same situation as Freddy and they were the same distance on the hit landing, Trapper’s weapon will hit the survivor while Freddy’s wouldn’t, but both will count as a hit

I honestly do think that would be the final straw for me. Freddy brought in a lot of horror fans. Shape, Bubba, GF did as well. PH brought in fans of horror games. Springtrap would do the same as well. But, has anyone actually gone and looked at the forums of this fan base? It is beyond sad. It would bring a ton of entitled, misguided, toxic, crybaby children. This forum would get phenomenally worse than it is now only to bring in a mediocre character who really does not rank in the top 100 of horror killer concepts.
Please, enjoy FNaF and the characters in it if that is your thing. But don't bring that crap here. We have enough joke characters - Clown. Just because it may have some jump scares, does not mean it's a good fit. Same can be said of Pennywise. I don't want to see him in game either. Heck, I'd rather see them go to some classic horror characters in bring us an unholy Nasferatu.
Anyways, done with this Springtrap crap. I tried to get into it and give it a fair shake, but holy crap I could barely get by its horrible fan base before figuring out it was about as scary as a pimple on my arse.

I am too, and I think the guy who started this movement( Venom xenomorph), didn't want for this whole move of push to be toxic, but some how it became so.I personally would like to see him in the game, but its jsut sad for me to see so much toxicity and controversy about this whole cherade . At this point I think who are spamming about this are probably against the idea( Not calling anyone out this is just how I feel), because I understand the message and try not be toxic about this movement, but still show support of the push. I really want him in the game fnaf was a very personal franchise for me and seeing so much toxicity about this whole push breaks my heart, its sad. Because I don't want this to become something that will be hated by others

Yeah why don't we add marios waluigis, links and donkey kongs etc while we're at it. Way to set the mood for a horror game to attract more kids in. Petition to turn dbd into the next super smash bros game hooray!

Well thing is people are mostly annoyed by it, not that they are against it, just annoyed. I was half tempting to make a single fnaf post in where people could just share their ideas and this is just a single post not multiple of them, it would allow people to express through one thread without people making multiple upon multiple in where it will annoy people to death, and will be the only place where they can talk about fnaf in dbd frely without annoying the community but still showing love and support for the idea

Well tbh I kinda thought the same but then I played SH2 with Pyramid head, and sat there questioning, how is this in any relation to the one in dbd, where did he get that power from, if he was added he would've been a lot like old Freddy, but he isn't, how does he have this power, and why is he in the game just because he's Pyramid head? You see what I mean, so if he was to be in the game they can work with something

That's funny because I would consider entitled, misguided, toxic, crybaby children to be the kinds of children who are misguided enough to think that they're entitled to only have killers that they want in the game and respond in toxic ways to people who want things that others enjoy and resort to crying like babies at the suggestion that Springtrap be added.

FnaF's community is toxic af, if the devs really bring sprintrap OR ANYONE ELSE this forum will explode with comments of 12yo saying things like "Omg i hate this game it's too hard" or "######### every killer Sprintrap it's the best killer, not discussing"

Well he wouldn't obviously be the same as he was in the games, but I've seen many people think about him using spring locks similar to Pigs, though that wouldn't work, IDK man I'm jsut tired today and I don't feel like argueing, look I just would liek to have him in the game, and I just want this to stop being toxic, lets just settle it at that, okay.

Look I wouldn't be against a Fnaf chapter, as a killer like Springtrap could bring some interesting abilities to the game and a Pizzeria map could be cool to have.
But the amount of these threads have really made those who used to be neutral towards fnaf to be more against it. It's really hurt it' s geneeal consensus in the community, which even before wasn't the best due to Fnaf's notorious fanbase.

Similarly to the majority of the comments on this thread. I like the idea, but these threads need to die down a notch. I'm only commenting on this since the thread is already on the front page, and I wouldn't be bumping it too much higher.
If there's one lesson I've learned debating about this topic throughout the past several months, its that it's simply not worth your time to argue this on the forums. Out of the countless arguments I've made, I think I was able to convince... maybe one person...? This is why I, and many others, have simply stopped trying to argue about it on the forums. We already know that many people want FNaF, and we also already know many people don't, so let's let this topic die down for now, and revisit it whenever the next chapter is released.
I'm also pretty confident that the idea is about to have yet another resurgence, since VenomXenomorph is collaborating with some music artists to make a song about it, and Seminatic, along with a few others, are producing an animated chapter concept or something along those lines. I think it's safe to say that a FNaF chapter is, theoretically, possible. How likely it is depends on BHVRs priorities, and where they listen to find feedback.
Also, Happy Birthday, Five Nights at Freddy's. 6 full years ago... damn.

Well, you didn't insult OP, but you did refer to FNaF's fanbase as entitled, misguided, toxic, crybaby children, and referred to Springtrap as a "joke character", so I'm guessing that's what provoked the attack.

The phrase "entitled, misguided, toxic, crybaby children" was pulled from your very post. If you have a problem with it, that's pretty much textbook hypocrisy. Then the rest of my post was an example of that kind of person which wasn't clearly directed at anybody (but admittedly, I wasn't going to be surprised if certain people in the thread identified as such). Not only are you insulting the FNaF community by calling them toxic, but you then pull one hell of a blatant double standard. You proceed say that when it comes to DbD, not everybody is toxic; but say that the FNaF community is toxic as a whole. Not only is that clearly wrong, it shows an obvious bias.
