totem skill checks??

Since hex totems are destroyed at the beginning of every match it seems like...should there at least be skill checks to destroying them?

Make it take longer to cleanse, skill checks, and saved progress (no more reset to zero, especially with Thrill of the Hunt). Perhaps a regeneration mechanic if a totem starts to be cleansed, but is interrupted and left alone for a while?

How many totems are typically on the map? I've never counted.

I don't think Ruin is OP, but it certainly changes the dynamics of the match. When I realize its on, I don't even bother doing a gen unless I have a toolbox and a teammate. Otherwise, as soon as I see its on, I just spend the rest of the time looking for it.

Since they do effect the game so much, I don't think skillchecks should be necessary when it can sometimes be damn hard to find the things. But, I think if you cleanse it, the killer should be able to take just as much time as it takes to cleanse one, to relight another. This would give them the option to MOVE the totem if they don't like the initial placement, and doesn't totally defeat a perk slot if its found right away. The killer would need to make a choice, just like the survivors, if they want to take the time to re-light totems.

There are always 5 totems on the map. It would be nice if there was a rating system on where the totems spawn, especially for the killer using a hex perk. There are some garbage locations for totems, some being on a hill that can be seen from all sides.

    No. Big NONO.
Skillchecks = more great skillchecks = faster cleansing
Hex totems are already destroyed to fast, no need to speed it up.

    How about Overcharge-style skillchecks?

perhaps the killer should be allowed to place their hex totem where they want if skill checks are not a good idea? It's just frustrating to be down a perk right at the start of a match because your hex totem is right beside a generator

I agree with wolf74, no skillcheck it would accelerate the cleansing and you don't want that, Overcharge-style skillchecks that's a good idea and better location. Because when your ruin and devour hope gets take down the minute you begin the game....come on!

Just don't add great skillchecks, that's it.
Do skillcheck or get exposed to killer, simple.
