Decisive Strike being canceled

I was unhooked in the basement and I had decisive up, I hid In the locker to avoid being slugged, the one at the entrance, closest to the hook, the ghostface grabbed me out, I hit my decisive strike but it was canceled by the hook animation since he started it before the stun went through. This was on an Xbox One, this has not occurred to me before.
