To Billy mains: What do you think now?

I never liked his play style (chainsaw on both he and Leatherface is so ######### awkward) so I've only ever used him for dailies a few times.

It seems he just got a second round of nerfs, before the first round I only saw a vocal minority of people saying they thought it was justified both here and on Reddit.

Are you still maining him? If not, why?

Do you think the nerfs are justified? If so, why?

Just curious.

Although I haven't tried 4.1.2 Billy yet, I do believe the nerf is justified as there aim with nerfing him in the first place was so you couldn't just keep on using your saw. Problem was is that the only time I ever overheated was when I tried to intentionally.

I'm a former Billy main. I can't try him right now, but I'm not really surprised they tweaked the chainsaw again. It went from almost always overheating to almost never overheating to this. I've already stated many times on this board that this mechanic seems too difficult to balance. However, they invested time and money into it, so it's not going away.

I was playing pre-nerf Hillbilly all morning today and the chainsaw didn't overheat once (and I really abused his power). I'd rather they nerfed his ability to run a lap a round the map then STILL continue to be able to mindgame someone using the chainsaw.

However, I hope this nerf doesn't punish the lesser Hillbillies that might need a couple of goes to hit a particularly jukey Nea.

i think the addons were all fine except instasaw and maybe crack addons i didnt call for a full rework

I don't like meters as a mechanic. Killers have enough to juggle without what are essentially extra skill checks like this.

I end up mostly playing him as guy-with-hammer because all I hit are trees and walls, it seems to lock on to them even. Luckily, the last daily was just "chase people for 3 minutes".

It's strange to me that they seem overly cautious with some changes and others, like MMR, hit like a tidal wave.

His in a good state atm, I am just happy his engraving addons got reverted. The nerf that came out today didnt bother me, his still a good and viable killer

I like it, his base kit is pretty much the exact same given how forgiving the overheat system is. And his addons were changed into not being too strong, so I’d say it was a good rework. I’m not a billy main though. So I’m not the most knowledgeable.

Tested him first game with no addons. Seems to have a impact, I actually had to think before I used my chainsaw. I knew I had filled half of the overheat guage, and had to walk for a bit before chainsawing across the map, because I knew if I just rushed I would overheat in any chase I had at the end. To be continued with more testing.

Not a Billy main, but I do play him in pubs and see him quite a bit in competition.

This entire overheat mechanic is the dumbest thing they've done in a long time. Completely unnecessary. Billy only thrived when players greed tiles and position poorly. "He can zoom across the map and immediately saw again." Ok? Why are ya'll hanging out on a gen across the map after a hook? Are you incapable of pre-positioning? You ever see a Billy without BBQ? At loops, drop the pallet. Boom. You're good. The tile is now safe. Those two things take away 70% of what makes him "op" to people. But no, let's give him an overheat mechanic instead of expecting people to alter the playstyle a little.
