Nightmare on Elm St DLC for Switch Crossplay?
hi guys for anyone that has the Switch version how does this work with crossplay?
Is the level available on Switch and can you play against freddy and with survivors from that DLC but switch owners don't have access to them?
I'm really mostly interested if the level itself is available to play on switch.

Freddy players only get matched with Xbox/PC/PS4. Switch is excluded from the queue when Freddy is chosen as killer.

From what I understand you'll be able to face players utilising Freddy and Quentin, play on Badham, and play with and against their perks, however you won't have access to the characters. The perks may be able to be obtained through the Shrine and/or in the default pool however I'm unsure.

Wait what? That's...how? Unless of course they have the license for Freddy on Switch (meaning he'll be released soon) than that wouldn't be the case. You would need a license to even have the Freddy asset on the system.

######### dude you scared me!!!! That's cruel!!!

Just to add, Switch players can now play on Badham Preschool if crossplay is enabled.

I guess I was wrong - they must have renegotiated the license for Freddy if they are able to have him appear on Switch.

ok ok i'm confused!!!! Which one is it? Can anyone confirm here if they have the switch version?

God i hope this is true! i don't even care about Freddy or the survivors but i wanted another level and this one is cool. I hope this is true.

Yep it is true. I play on Switch and was able to play on Badham Preschool V for the first time.

We could test it out if someone has a badham offering and will let me add them as a friend. I'm not particularly good, but I'd like to see what happens.
Actually, n/m. I'm going to try it in a private game between switch and PS4. Expect an update soonish.

That doesn't necessarily mean they got the licence renegotiated, since you still need other platforms for it.

They still don’t have the license to add Freddy to Switch, but you can still play with people who own the ANOES DLC.
I’m not sure what’s going on in the legal case right now, but hopefully it’s in the works of being resolved.

Correct. I've worked on a lot of licensing in the past and it is extremely possible for the them to include Freddy like that via this cross-play system since he would still not be available for play or purchase by Switch players. It really only depends on how strictly worded the license was at the time of signing.
By the way, we were talking yesterday or so in a thread. I reinstalled today to test the cross-play. Absolutely love it. I'm finally able to play my horror icons again.

My man!!!!! I'm sooooo pumped!!!! Hopefully they get cross progression between consoles worked out. I have all my progression on the switch version but would buy the game on xbox x again if i'm able to get all my stuff and progression.

Yep, you can play against Freddy on Switch. And you can play on Badham. Awesome! Now I'll still never get to play on that map because I always get literally every other map instead

Thanks for confirming, its nice to have reassurance that I'm not stupid lol. I'm glad the queue times are better for you. I myself am having quite a lot more fun with being able to get into the game faster.

Let's just say Freddy will be coming to Switch, Windows Store, and Mobile platforms very soon. 😉

I play on the Switch and as far as I know I am able to play on the Badham maps. I don't know about facing Freddy.

The rights to the first film's script returned back to the Wes Craven Estate in America in 2019. So everything new involving the NOES content in DBD since then (the Freddy rework, the 1rst Badham rework, Freddy appearing (but not playable) on the Windows Store platform, Freddy's wall breaking animations, the 2nd Badham rework, and now Freddy showing up on the Switch) requires both the approval of Warner Brothers and the Wes Craven Estate.
Though you'll not have to wait long for the NOES DLC being available on the last 3 remaining platforms it's not on. I can't go into too much detail as leaks/datamines are banned but let's just say reliable people are saying to wait for the next chapter and update for Freddy news. 😉
