So I had my first PC cheater on XPlay

I had a game yesterday against a Myers and magically once the last gen was done (Game was running fine the whole time) He just started lagging like mad downing us from halfway across the map and teleporting to where we were after like 15 seconds of not being able to move much. This blatantly screamed lag switch or some sort of script. (We still got 3 people put in the end) 🤣

How do you PC players deal with this on a daily basis? If i had this every other game, I probably would've quit long ago.

I find it amazing that people are that desperate to win that they'll resort to cheating. I just don't get their mindset, do they honestly think they did well if they have to cheat to win?

I can count on one hand the number of cheaters I’ve faced, either as survivor or killer, so there isn’t much to deal with, really. I think the cheaters are probably just emboldened by crossplay.

Daily basis? That's a misassumption on your part.

Never had a cheater, seen videos but never played against one.

If you are playing on console, I think the servers are having issues, I'm lagging every now and then since crossplay became a thing.

It was working fine the entire time in that game and every game before/after. It was that blatant that it was actually funny. I would've recorded it if I'd known.

Pretty sure they cheat because they're jealous of other players skill and frustrated because of their lack of skill/patience/dedication. Instead of taking responsibility and getting good at the game, they start to cheat as a temporary solution.

It's a bit like liposuction if you think about it, people that are too lazy to work out / go on a diet. We all know it's just a matter of time until they become bigger again, mainly because they never learned how to actually have a healthy lifestyle - which is the most important part when trying to stay in a good shape.

It's not daily basis at least for me. Last time I faced a cheater was probably in 2018.

Maybe I'm just lucky or cheaters decided to show somw activity during crossplay.

What I mean is facing cheaters and hackers on PC is absolutely not the norm and happens quite rarely.

I constantly see posts on the forum complaining about cheaters so I just assumed it was normal.

I have had a friend of mine be accused of lag switching when honestly it was only her internet connection being crap. The game is far more filled with laggy players than with cheaters. I think I have only faced an actual cheater once in my 650 hours in the game.

I'm aware people can lag but it's usually during the whole game, not just magically when the last gen is done for the whole end game

I mean... maybe??? I'm not saying this specific case was just a laggy person. Just pointing out that someone being laggy is just someone being laggy and not cheating, most times, from my experience. I've had my internet start failing at a specific moment during the match and not through the whole of it.

Tbh I could probably write a book about the weird instances of lag I have witnessed in this game. Once, another friend of mine had been hooked in the basement but her character showed up "hooked" five feet away from the gen I was repairing. Another time, an extremely laggy Bubba hooked me... on a tree, a bazillion meters away from the closest hook, more than 10 seconds after my wiggle bar had been completely filled. It sometimes gets weird lol.

Same. in 4 years on PC I've faced 2 blatant wall hackers, one Dweight and one Billy

All other instances wherent hacking but just terrible sportsmanship.

One example I recall was another Dweight with Bond working with the Killer (Bubba) to bring him to each Survivor and hook farm them.

Another example was a group of Survivors body blocking my Survivor to get the Killer to tunnel me, luckily enough the Killer knew what was happening, killed the rest and gave me the hatch lol.

Maybe he realized that he won't win and started watching guide "how to win the endgame in dbd" on YouTube. Or his wife opened refrigerator in front of WiFi router. You never know.

I turned crossplay off bc it made me lag too much to move, but I've encountered one cheater. Basically once the last gen was popped, everyone died instantly. I'm on ps4 btw.

Lag switching was more of a problem before dedicated servers for me. I would definitely find killers who would intentionally do it. It's been a long long time since I've played against a cheater and even then it was only lag switching as survivor. As killer I came across one dwight who was zooming and no clipping so I just meme'd with him.
