I think we should replace the 4 perk system with a perk point system
So how it'd work is you'd only have a limited amount of perk points so you'd have to choose your perks wisely. Perks like DS and NOED would cost a lot of points so you couldn't run many of them while perks like Monster Shrine and No Mither would cost only a few perk points so you could run a lot of them. As a killer and a survivor I am tired of going up against the same builds and hope this will build some variety, what you all think ?

Their end goal isn't for some perks to be more valuable than others. They would be putting more effort into making perks equal than implementing a whole new system.

I think it's a very interesting idea.

While an interesting idea I think they better play is improving weak perks.

Instead of point system, it would be much better to ballance perks overall, so they are kinda evenly strong.

I actually kind of like this idea but even then, there would still be a meta build. Even if the meta was like Decisive Strike, Sprint Burst, Borrowed Time and not running a 4th perk at all.
Also it might hinder people that are currently not running perks like DS. Like is someone trying to run Inner Strength, Detective's Hunch & We're Gonna Live Forever going to have a problem fitting their build in within the point parameters? That wouldn't feel fair.

similar to last year design, which is bad. Also, I'd rather play 1 game with DS, DH, unbreakable and other meta ######### fest, then 5 games with alert, windows of opportunity, no mither and this is not happening... The only way you can make someone use the non-meta is by giving incentives, i.e. Rift challenges and/or buffing useless perks.

Or maybe instead of destroying any kind of possible Perk Synergies we could instead balance those overperforming Perks? No? Okay.

I agree. If we're for balancing perks instead of giving them a point value (as OP suggested), then it couldn't just be improving the non meta we'd definitely need too nerf the most powerful too.
I personally think the point system is a good idea but they'd have to assign a max like 6 equipable if they were all monstrous shrine level of useless.

I'm totally zombifying this post. I've been thinking about a points system for weeks.
I 100% agree with perk points system with a cap on the number of perks you could run, I think 6 or 7 could be good.
It also would add new content potential if you had negative point worth perks, like no mither or something that decreases your window vault speed that would give you more points to spend on better perks. I would agree with the caveat that a perk cap would be very important for this.
There may still be "meta builds" but I think it would substantially increase the variety of play and I'd feel less boxed in with perk choices. We could run pet perks without feeling like we're shooting ourselves in the foot (I'm looking at you Mad Grit).
I think the biggest boon would be the fact that, as was mentioned, the devs wouldn't have to worry about making all perks equally as strong. Some perks like are just intrinsically weak (e.g. Up the Ante, Lucky Break, Predator, etc.) it's hard to "balance" such a perk on strength alone. The devs would have a lot more flexiblity to say "We like what this perk does, it's just too weak, instead of making it better, lets make it less points." and vice versa with intrinsically strong perks.
All that being said, it would be a huge undertaking, but I think it'd be a really good overhaul.
