Is Crossplay really "Great"? Without post game chat I feel like I am playing with bots.
It is faster ques... sometimes but longer others. I almost always play solo and now when I see 3 globes on my team which is about 75% of the time I pretty much feel like I am just playing with bots and its hard to even care about how the game ends half the time. Before with post game chat I knew I was going to at least be acknowledged most of the time, Maybe I annoyed someone or maybe our team made a good play, now there is no point to stay and spectate a game if you die to see how it plays out because you can't talk to anyone anyway.
Am I the only one who feels like this?

I agree. I don't like the crossplay feature in almost every way. The lower pings dont make up for skill differences. The fast que times just mean I run into full crossplay groups and play alone even more often. It is rare to get not-crossplay companions. It is badly tuned and I don't like it.

Nah. Survivor ques are much longer. There seems to be a lot of lag, especially with console killers. I do prefer having end game chat. Just meh really. I also feel like they should have waited to implement this after optimizing consoles and letting the MMR system settle/be fixed up.
There are times I really think this game is unplayable. My husband gave up tonight after getting stuck on a hill once again. I'm not one to complain a lot, really, but I'm getting fed up with so much being wrong.

Does post game chat really make a difference though? It's usually filled with toxicity, racism, and insults. Lol

Honestly it would be cool if they could add a secondary area to chat in game. Even adding something like guilds, allowing whispers. Guilds would really be neat because they could add bigger challenges that a whole guild could do
idk even little things like apologizing for doing something dumb, or complementing a killer, or just saying gg, as meaningless as it might seem to some people are nice. Just cuz some people aren't social and wouldn't care if these forums, reddit, or anything else exists doesn't mean people don't want it

I like it.
PS4 player and have never had the curse of post match chat.
The rank match-making is far better.

The game would be healthier if all post game chat was banned.

Close chat

Who are you and is this your new alt account? I feel like you created a new account just to post this. Lol.

You play Dead by Daylight for the end game chat? One would think you'd play it for the gameplay. 🤷

I'm on PS4, and I'll often spectate after dying or escaping just out of curiosity.
Personally, I do not want to see post-game chat come to PS4. I've played a bunch of online games, but it is specifically DbD that led me to turn off messages and friend requests.
It would be pretty useless on PS4, anyway, as you wait five minutes for someone to type "gg" with their controller and the crappy onscreen keyboard. It would be a way for PC players to talk at console players more than it would be an avenue for worthwhile two-way communication.
I would just disable end-game chat if it were added.

I have that crap disabled anyway. I wouldn't be affected if console people got leave messages or not.

That's exactly how I feel.. Like "cool, we supposedly have more people to play with.. but we literally have no way to interact with them and make new friends"

There's a way to escape the hill of death.

When I still used to play this game I did, always. I suggest for the health of the game that all in-game chat be removed.

Couldn't agree more!

You can use your keyboard to type with ps4 I assume the same with Xbox you just can’t play the game with it

I'm on PS4 and I would love to have access to Post-Game chat to actually speak to PC players. The past few days I have met some really good survivors and even killers, and I just want to send them a simple GG but can't because there's just a huge void between us all. It wouldn't really affect anything in my opinion. If someone doesn't like chat, close it. But some of us just want to congratulate the killer or praise survivors for their work in the match.

I used to feel like that now I don’t cause it’s 9 times out of 10 I know it’s negative I’d rather you say nothing then you telling me to kill myself you no good camping tunneling Ghostface who uses that crutch devour hope

That is the downside I suppose. Too many keyboard warriors with fragile egos these days.

This made me giggle. A tutorial on how to escape bugs, complete with RNG! Lol. I was able to escape once out of the few times I was stuck, but now I mostly avoid the sides of the hill altogether. Anyway, good vid.

Lack of chat is such a major step backwards. OP is dead-on, it feels like you're playing with bots.
I'm going to enjoy the PTB tomorrow for the simple fact we'll be in an all-PC environment again.
Edit: Apparently this was my 1000th post (despite the counter saying it was the 1016th...), woohoo.

My post-game chat is mainly just "gg" or someone acknowledging a good play. Sometimes there's a salty guy, but that's life, y'know? You don't hide in your house all day on the off-chance that someone at the supermarket could be mean.
I guess it also depends on a combination of factors. I imagine if you're an ebony mori iri head huntress, you're probably gonna get a lot more flak than just playing something more standard. Or if you're in a 4-man bully squad intentionally trying to annoy the killer instead of just playing the game, you're probably gonna have some harsh words.
But since I don't do those things, 99% of the time it's "gg" or "gg, nice save" or something like that. In hundreds and hundreds of matches I have not experienced any racism at all, very little toxicity, and I think maybe one or two insults? None of it directed at me, but I've seen it.
The idea that it's just this huge cess pool of hatred has me very suspicious about how some of you might be playing... Even watching hours and hours of streamers, you rarely see anything other than gg. If the streamer is running some meme build you can get some salt, but if you're out there running meme builds you should have slightly thicker skin because you know what you're doing.

Sounds like someone who doesn't even have post game chat. It's actually usually just silent except for some ggs or compliments. Rarely will someone get salty enough to rage in chat.
