You have to wonder...
why in a game that requires 4 survivors and 1 killer in order to play, and where the 4 are plainclothes-wearing nobodies and the 1 is a badass with magic powers, the queue times for killer are near-instant and the survivor queue can take several minutes. Just had 3 games in a row against swf squads (or maybe they weren't...maybe I just tell myself that for consolation) where I managed 1-3 hooks before the gens were done. Usually I down more than that, but flashlights and hook sabotages and bodyblocks and DS. Teabags at every pallet. But whatever, I lost, it happens, that's fine. But then the survivors just won't leave...they let the timer run down to zero while they just fastvault ######### over and over trying to get my attention. Had to pretend to be afk just to get them to leave.
Now I'm pretty mediocre at the game...rank 7, but feel like maybe I should be a bit lower because I feel constantly outmatched. But then I'll have 1 game where I easily 4k and look at the ranks screen expecting like green ranks only to see red and purple, so who knows. All I know is playing killer is just not very fun right now. Been playing more and more survivor lately and it's a lot more relaxing and less frustrating. Not sure what the point of this was, just a frustrated rant.

That's just how the game is. In order to be a good Killer, you need to invest a lot of time into this game and learn all the ins and outs of the character you choose. Killer is supposed to be the power role, so people assume that it is going to be easier, but it is anything but easy. It is the more challenging role in Dbd.
You have to be on top of your game and wait for your opponents to make a mistake or out mind game them. And when they do, you have to be weary of their many second chance perks. Then you have to understand that they're allowed to be as efficient as possible, but if you choose to do the same then you're attacked for being a tunneler and/or camper. It a major double standard that you as a Killer will need to learn how to ignore.
It sucks because some of the weaker Killers are fun to play, but are hell to play with against good SWFs. Devs really need to just balance around SWF, but for some reason they refuse to. My advice to you is to play how you want and ignore any salt they throw your way. If you feel you are severely out matched, go stand in the basement and alt+tab to YouTube. That they they can waste their time while you're at least watching something entertaining, such as funny cat videos.
Another thing you can do is switch up the game play. Rather than chase Survivors, run away from them and see if they'll chase you. Or just stand there afk all match, hiding a totem behind you while you have NoEd equipped. Do your best to hide the totem with your body and see if someone will come harass you and down them. Works best if you're near a basement and have a basement build with Trapper or Bubba. One time I was playing Plague and realized I was really out matched. It was maybe my 3-5th game with her and it was obviously a swf. so when I finally was able to down someone, I just left them slugged on the ground and started to walk away but stopped, making sure I could still see the slugged person. I didn't move but I made them think I was AFK and their whole team came to pick them up. I was then able to barf on all of them and down 3 of them. It completely turned the match into my favor. I ended up with 3 kills that match.
Just need to be a little ingenious and not take the game to heart. Also, don't play a lot, this game is best in small doses with lots of vacations. Your sanity depends on it.

That has been the case ever since the ruin nerf. Sure, it changes when they release a new killer, and for about a week it's survivor ques that are shorter, but in general killer is harder and you can't play with your friends, so the significant majority play survivor. It probably helps that survivors can equip 4 second chances and brain-dead their way through.

It's simple. Being killer is tremendously more stressful, requires much more dedication to be good at, every killer plays different, with no cross-killer add-ons or items, you can't play with your friends, and the entire game is in your hands, which is actually a lot of responsibility. As a survivor if someone's being chased you can just chill in a corner doing gens or healing someone, as a killer, you're constantly worried about every person's location, the status of each gen, not tunneling someone, following the survivor rulebook of not taking this add-on or that add-on because it's "cheap" while you get flashlight click spammed as they moonwalk out the exit, it can be really unpleasant. And you're there for 100% of the match, 100% of the time.
As a survivor you can memelord your way around, die on the hook and just do it again, the match ends basically whenever you want it to if you don't care about dying. It's like the fun side to play until you get really good at killer, at which point the stress starts to ease off and you can have a lot more fun.

dont trust the devs to help you, they'll ignore you just like you ignored those survivors at the end game collapse.
i know this isnt related to this thread's rant but i guess i need to make a passive-aggresive rant of my own.
DEVS PLS FIX THE NOODLE CODING THANKS. Dont take a century to fix a line pls.
