So I had a killer idea
THE DERANGED
Warning: I can't type
Dead By Daylight: Inquisitive Horror Chapter
lore
Edward Crosby was an esteemed inventor. He had settled down to making toys for all of the children in his sleepy little town. He was like a Santa. He brought gifts of all shapes and sizes, all made by him. But one night, members of a crime organisation broke into his home, and everything changed. He woke up in a warehouse, unable to see. For the years following, his talented hands were forced to made weapons for their gang. But he had a plan, and one winter night, he put it into action. He threw the gang members in his cell, and tortured them for the following weeks with his own contraptions. He felt something he had never felt before. Joy rushed through him as his former captors screamed and slowly wilted away. He resolved to do this again and again. He returned to his former home under dead of night, and captured a child. He was tortured for weeks, his screams fueling Crosby's bloodthirsty fire. Every week or so he would claim a new victim. After they died he would tie their mangled body in a noose and hang it from the ceiling. But eventually, Edward's booming laugh, or perhaps his victim's screams, were what was his downfall. He was attacked and held at gunpoint. The bullet collided with his head.
Edward opened his eyes to see a dark wilderness ahead of him. Was this hell? No, it couldn't be. Hell wouldnt have given him four unsuspecting victims sitting just 20 feet from him. Edward smiled. Wherever this place was, it was going to bring him such joy in the coming weeks.
Power: Crazed inventor
The Deranged has the ability to torture survivors.
Special Attack: Cruel Intentions
Using cruel intentions, the Deranged can start torturing survivors in different ways. Survivors effected by cruel intentions have a cube around them in the HUD. After 10 seconds, effected survivors will see either:
Static on their screen
Their screen flashes red
If the screen shows static, the survivor starts suffering from the EXHAUSTED status effect. The next object they interact with becomes trapped. Trapped objects act like a hook, and any survivor that interacts with one becomes trapped. a survivor cannot be sacrificed while trapped. However, once their timer runs out, The Deranged has the ability to KILL them as long as they remain trapped. If the timer has not been depleted, the Deranged can pick a survivor up out of the trap and hook them regularly.
If the screen flashes red, the entity puts the survivor in a lockbox. Only one survivor at a time can be put in a lockbox. The survivor can either attempt to escape by themselves or wait for help. The lockbox has 4 stages, each of which cause different effects. Stages progress every 15 seconds. Each stage gives the trapped survivor a chance to escape by completing a series of skill checks. This will come at the cost of their team.
1st stage- Lockbox starts to crush the survivor inside. Survivors have 45 seconds to save their teammate. The survivor inside can attempt escape, but success will cause all other survivors to scream and be effected by the EXPOSED status effect for 60 seconds. The survivor inside cannot be saved by a teammate in this stage.
2nd stage- The Lockbox now has a terror radius. All survivors within 32 meters of the lockbox suffer from the EXHAUSTED status effect and will scream after 10 seconds in the lockbox's terror radius. After 15 seconds (which is how long it takes to rescue a survivor in a lockbox) the survivor suffers from the EXPOSED status effect for the remainder of their time in the Lockbox's terror radius.
The trapped survivor may attempt to escape. If they are successful, all other survivor's auras are revealed to you for 15 seconds.
3rd stage- The lockbox is at its most deadly in the third stage. If the survivor inside the lockbox is not saved within 15 seconds, they are killed. The Lockbox's terror radius increases to 40 meters. When trying to save a survivor from a lockbox, skill checks can now occur. A failed skill check causes both survivors to switch places with each other, and the lockbox resets once this occurs. Once the survivor in the lockbox is saved, they cannot be put back into a lockbox. If they are saved in the third stage, they get put into the DYING state but automatically recover after 10 seconds.
4th stage- only occurs after a survivor is saved from a lockbox. The Lockbox collapses and turns into a trap. Any survivor that hasn't been trapped already gets put into a Lockbox if they step on this. Must be effected by Cruel Intentions to spring the trap.
PERKS:
Mangler of bodies-
You kill anyone in your way without mercy. When a survivor is hooked, all other survivors scream and reveal their location to you for 2/3/6 seconds. When the survivor is unhooked, they suffer from the DEEP WOUNDS status effect. They will be put into the DYING state if they don't mend within 10 seconds.
"I've been searching for a way to make their screams louder, to cause them unceasing pain. These hooks... they are perfect"-Edward Crosby
Insane drive-
Your have an obsession with causing them pain. Survivors bleed out 15/20/25 percent faster while inflicted with deep wounds or when in the dying state.
"It will be painful, but you're causing me joy. Isn't it wonderful, making someone happy?"-Edward Crosby
Hex: Blood Reaper-
A hex rooting its power on death. The following effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing:
Once a survivor is sacrificed or killed, a dull hex totem becomes lit with this perk. When stunned or blinded, you gain a token up to a maximum of 5/4/3 tokens. Once the maximum number of tokens have been gained, any attack inflicts the DEEP WOUNDS status effect on survivors you hit. If you have an obsession, you may KILL them once you reach maximum stacks.
"I wasn't driven mad. But something clicked that night-something that told me that spilling blood was my calling. I was put on this Earth to torture, to mangle and kill."-Edward Crosby
SURVIVOR
Madison Vane
Madison Vane was a high school student. She was very popular and therefore her sub par grades didn't seem to matter. She was a social media influencer-at least that's what she called herself. In just weeks, she had an army of loyal fans. But then she disappeared without a trace. The world moved on from her. Nobody except her closest friends and family cared that she was gone. The entity's realm was somewhere where she was nobody. Nothing. But she persevered. She learned all she could of the entity, until she understood it as much as its deranged minions did. but then she finally got put into a trial, where research can't save you.
Perks
Charisma-
You have a way of making people smile. All survivors within a 12/15/18 meter radius of you have increased running, vaulting, and unhooking speeds. They also do not duffer from the EXHAUSTED status effect while in this area.
"I have a way with words. Trust me on this one"-Madison Vane
The Influencer-
your deep understanding of the entity, combined with your social skill make for an unprecedented combination. While standing still and looking in the killer's direction, you can control the killer's actions for up to 7/9/12 seconds. This perk has a cooldown of 45 seconds.
"I have a way of convincing people, of making them see my point of view. I was just born that way."-Madison Vane
Hang tight-
You've lost it all once, and it isn't happening again.
Actvatable perk.
When looking in the direction of a hooked survivor that is less than 20/23/27 meters away, you can use this perk to automatically and remotely unhook them, regardless of how many times they have been hooked. After using this perk, your aura is revealed to the killer for 5 seconds.
"I've changed. I'm a whole new person, and I'll do anything to prove it." Madison Vane
