When the Struggle Phase will be changed definitively?
Before pyramid head cames out we asked on the forum to change the "Mash x button " for skill checks, they put it in Pyramid Cages and the struggle is still a bad mechanic, people with disabilities having to mash a button is stupid please skill checks will help, maybe when its changed people will use the Steve perk. Streamers most of the time use macros to press the button but console players cant

I mean, from a design perspective. I see how it create immersion and a sense of panic, but you make a good point about the disabilities aspect and that PC can give themselves a QOL improvement that console can't. Especially since its cross platform now, they should add a "hold x/a/space to struggle against the entity" option in the options menu.

I'm on PC and have keyboard macros for wiggle and struggle. They're both stupid but with macros it's not bad at all. I would never play this with a controller unless it was one that could also handle very basic macros or at least button smashing.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The cages having skill checks are likely a test to see if they’d work for a button mash replacement.
So do you not care about disabilities or people just getting tired? Before you say “b-but macros!”, not everyone plays this game on PC. There’s a good amount of console players.

And one small lag spike later and you're dead. Game just decided you die. No action on your part affected the outcome. Just death.

various motor disabilities can make repetitive motion painful or even impossible, like carpal tunnel syndrome or repetitive strain injuries

I'm more worried about what they will replace it with. The PH cage skill checks are obnoxious.
Yea, this happens even with the macros.

Personally, i think its cool from an immersion aspect, but it doesn't actually take skill, so there's no reason to not add a "press and hold" check box in the options menu.
They literally mean people with physical handicaps. A lot of people with birth defects for example already need special controllers just to be able to operate it. They can do anything skill based as well as anyone else with practice, but smashing button(s) doesn't take skill, it takes physical endurance. This can mess up the game for disabled people, but giving them an option to press and hold makes it a level playing field and gives them no technical advantage

On pc its an "alternate a/d" mechanic, right? On ps4 its just "smash the x button"

It might add immersion and sense of panic for the first few hours, but after hundreds of hours of playtime I just want to stop button mashing. All this is going to do is make my keyboard break and prevent me from drinking water while on the hook.

I hate being in the cage. It's so boring. I like the mashing. Why not make an option to mash or do skill check? Then everyone will be pleased. 😁

an extra option in the settings would fix it. Its an acessibility feature just like daltonism option but doesnt give any competitive advantage in the game so there is no reason to put it there.

I have carpel tunnel in both of my hands, it's a pain to keep mashing the button, literally. lol

great way to ruin a controller TBH
should've been removed a while ago.. if a survivor wants to give up on hook, make it a 2 button press or something.. everyone else can go about their business as usual

Hey, you're entitled to that opinion. I totally understand. I probably still like it because I only play survivor a couple games per month on averagge. But if they made it something you can toggle in the options, yay, we all win!

I'd rather not give Survivors the option to ragequit faster. No button mash pls.

the Devs should change the struggle phase to holding the button down instead of spamming space, but then you can still die for some odd reason after spamming...

the Mash x button broken a lot of my controllers

just being able to choose an option would be good

Holding down a key and having a lag spike would still kill you, just saying.
That said, I think the Struggle Phase should be DDR where you have to hit the right keys at the right time, and it gets faster as time runs out. And it plays Eurobeat. Lots of Eurobeat. If you get unhooked with only 5 seconds left, however, you have Nitros for the rest of the game and play Eurobeat.
Eurobeat.
