Huntress Hatchets
PSA Huntress now has a new (undisclosed) ability:
Paint Ball
Just chose your target, wind up a hatchet, and watch as it splatters red paint all over your survivor but without all the hassle of injuring a survivor! Success may vary, but your odds of not injuring a survivor are increased when standing still and cornering one or when one crouches suddenly slightly off the trajectory of your Hatche- ahem Paint Ball.

If it wasn't clear, this is a post about server validation making hatchets sometimes not deal damage but still break upon survivors.

It is iffy. In most of my games, it works just as expected and other times it feels like my melee hatchets are just not registering. Like blood bursts from their chest but no damage. But it seems to only do that when we're practically grinding against each other.

yep hatches are broken, they literally bounce of from survivors but do no damage.

Posted it in Bug Reports yesterday. It robbed me so many downs. I won't even play her until that gets fixed.

Huntress needs a homing hatchet addon but they all travel much slower. Give us some variety to the beach ball/planet sized orb hitboxes that smash all life before them.

I think it's fine - hatchets have been hitting survivors from around corners for years now - this is balance :)

And hatchets are still hitting survivors around corners. Don't act like the issues with Huntress as survivor have been remedied. This "**** you" to huntress hasn't fixed that "**** you" to survivors.
Since I already have had plenty of hatchets physically go through the survivors' models before this change, all this has done is just increase the stupid **** I get from both ends (survivor and killer), making the overall situation worse.

you would have heard the SQUORSHLP sound if the hatchet had actually missed and hit the ground, so it must have hit something before then, and the only thing between the ground and the huntress was the survivor. By process of emilination (and slowing down the clip), the hatchet breaks on the survivor and deals no damage.

I see the hatchet behind the survivor by slowing down. The sound is not reliable, especially because we don't know how that's handled when a hit is declined server-side.

thats "fair" hatchet hits, a direct shot just nopeing out of existence
