Why is nurse basegame if she's so difficult?

I've been trying to play nurse because I want her teachables for other killers (thanatophobia and nurse's calling feel like they'd work great on legion) but she feels incredibly useless. I know that back in the day there were highly specialized nurse mains who were the top killer players on pc, but otherwise she's insanely difficult to play.

And she's one of five base killers on pc. If you don't buy dlc killers on pc, you have trapper (extremely weak killer), wraith , hillbilly (high learning curve), nurse (extremely high learning curve), and huntress.

But why is this how things need to be? Why not make Nurse a good killer in many people's hands, instead of having her be a great killer in a dozen people's hands and impossible to play for anyone else? Especially when she comes with the game?

It's just also a shame that a killer with some of the best perks in the game is horrible to actually play for anyone who hasn't spent dozens of hours playing her. Why hasn't she been reworked by now?

You don't have to play her to get her teachables, you can play anyone and pour points into her. If she's not your thing then she's not your thing. & tbh I'd rather her be high skill high reward and a base game killer than behind a pay wall.

As a rank 1 nurse main, I strongly disagree, and i KNOW they will never do that, instead, they're constantly increasing her skill ceiling because she get's a new bug every update, dead-blink-zones where you get stuck and last but definetely not least

Listen, The Nurse is Hell on earth when you're starting to play as her, I KNOW because i've been there, and i felt powerless even with the strongest killer.

She has the power to counter EVERY game mechanic related to survivor's defense, making her easier will never be a thing, in fact, they're constantly increasing her skill ceiling (nurse new cooldown last year), but they will never change her due to the people who spent months and years mastering her, is just not fair.

I also play a lot as a survivor, and tbh, the last time i was against a GOOD nurse, was prior to her rework.

YES, after the rework, a lot of mediocre old nurses became horrible nurses, therefore, they were forced to quit using her and moved on to other killers, that's why even at rank 1, you almost never will face a good nurse, they are almost extinct. (INTENDED BY THE DEVS)

I also get your frustration, but using her nowadays is a reward for the hardest thing this game has to offer. Still, VERY good survivors, can still mindgame you if don't have line of sight. Even with the nurse, Gen rushing is real, and if they decide to hide, you'll most likely lose. I've lost many games as nurse because they hid, or gen rushed pretty hard.

But 90% of my games are sweaty 4K, I ASSURE YOU, it's not EASY, and it's an ongoing challenge and very pleasing. After the rework, i had to re-learn her, it actually gave players an insight of when to use 2 blinks, or 1, and wait your blinks while you can see the survivor you're chasing and knowing what he's doing.

My advice: Master using both blinks (second is always useful for chases) NEVER traverse the map with 2 blinks, if you find one you need the extra one. And never blink without clear sight of where the survivor is going, if they break line of sight, blink to the last position you saw them and wait for the short 1 blink fatigue. There's few content regarding the nurse, and a lot of the guides were made prior to the rework.

How would you feel if for years you master a certain thing, and just because newer players can't do well with it, they change it. I would feel horrible, i already felt bad when they reworked her, just imagine making her easy to use.. :/

im sorry you spent so much sweat getting really good at a thing that shouldn't have been so hard to begin with, but you're proving my point. if only 1% of players can use her effectively and that's only after basically being hazed by game mechanics until they git gud, and then can have that "progress" swept out from under them if the devs adjust her at all, then why bother having such a niche, punishing killer? Is there even dbd esports? Why have a killer that the average player has no reason to play, and even the <100 people who can play her well could also easily play just as well with every other killer on the roster because they're good players due to training on the most punishing-to-play killer in the roster?

Give her just the single blink and increase her base speed to be more in line with other killers and now she's a unique killer that the average player can play without having to bang their head against a brick wall til it breaks

Because they decided that they can put Nurse in the base game?

    Same with Huntress!

Tbh i kinda miss those "free dlc". But i understand why there wasn't one.
