How to handle people hacking or exploiting the game?

I just went against a Myers with a tombstone piece, a fragrant tuft of hair. His perks were distressing, insidious, unrelenting and pop goes the weasel. I’m trying to figure out how he managed to get evil within 3 in less than 2 minutes, ended up being faster than a legion in feral frenzy, and finding all of us without the use of tracking perks. I’m convinced he was cheating or something, and I’m so angry that I lost rank and my item, and wasted an offering because somehow this was able to happen. I suppose my question has two parts. First: How are we supposed to handle people hacking the game? I reported the player obviously, but it sucks that I was punished for it. And secondly, with the setup he has, was it possible for him to VASTLY outspeed me and the other 3 survivors like he did? Sorry for the rant and thanks for the help!

    Without seeing a video it's obviously hard to establish if this was a genuine hack or not. That's why we request video evidence sent to Support to supplement the in game report with regards to things like this.

    Please don't upload the video footage to the forums, we have specific Naming & Shaming rules for this purpose.
