You know I still occasional see debates on legacy
It occured to me..if they were to release them publicly to get those who lost it back but still make it meaningful..I think the best solution would be to simply make it a devotion reward..? Every devotion gets you a token to get a legacy piece, because devotion takes a lot of hours to stack up , itd be a symbol of a dedicated player...dunno just a thought I'd share..itd fix two birds with 1 stone

yes!! honestly i dont need legacy but it would be nice to have (never hacked for it, never will) i also just want devotion to DO SOMETHING besides bein a funky number

The legacy was a reward meant to compensate people for grinding bloodwebs at a time when grinding bloodwebs was a nightmare. The real equivalent would be having forcing players to sacrifice bloodpoints into a legacy piece bank and once they get 4 million bloodpoints in that bank, they can unlock one legacy piece.

I totally agree, I lost my kate and billy summer exclusives for no reason when the requirement was the same as legacy, grind a lot in a very limited ammount of time. Even if legacy is more exclusive at least it should be obtainable at this point with highly so much effort, hope it's part of the new prestige rewards with more steps and I really like the idea of making it btaiinable by devotion

And event rewards were rewards for people playing during the earlier days and actually putting in time and effort. Before everything was handed out.
PAX outfits were PAID FOR by people at an event, as the only way to obtain them.
Those are now handed out for free. How is legacy different? Other than the amount of time needed? Oh that's right. It's not. Its something people earned, and now is unavailable. The difference is they gave out everything else for free.

Well if you reached high devotion you gained way more than that

I figured itd be the simplist and most sensible way

The thing is, devotion hasn't been around since the start of DBD. So people who lost their legacy cosmetics could be at devotion 0. So bringing legacy back in this way would not even guarantee people who lost their legacy cosmetics would even get 1 of their legacy pieces back without grinding out devotion levels. Personally I'm only at Devotion 4 with over 4k hrs.
So this wouldn't necessarily resolve the lost legacy issue and would give legacy to players who never originally earned it. Legacy should stay as an exclusive (I also feel as if the event cosmetics should have stayed exclusive, too).

Legacy is never coming back and BHVR are pretty pathetic for not restoring Legacy to those who lost them, back in the day.

Yeah, I'm not seeing why this wouldn't work. Sadly, BHVR are stuck with "Legacy is not the same as other stuff we gave up" which is wrong, but they will never admit it is

Didn't you get perks and items and offerings too, though? Why does it only go towards costume piece now? How about x amount of blood webs per character gets you a piece, top, pants then head.
Like each 50 blood webs finished gets you a piece. (This amount is just example.)

grinding bloodwebs still a nightmare but I know it was worse then but really I also don't want legacy might as well have sign on your back saying I'm over here killer kill me.

when was devotion released? why would there be 0?I'm been playing only 2 to 3 years and I'm almost devotion 13

Honestly, i don't care about the current legacy skins. I just want brand new legacy skins for the newer characters.

There should be something legacy-esc for all characters with devotion. Something like a recolour of legacy for all of them.

Y'all are forgetting that prestige makes you lose all the items you gained in the bloodweb. Btw, I actually took into account the items that you generally use before prestiging. The actual cost of 50 old school bloodwebs is closer to 5 million bloodpoints, so the 4 million I suggested assumes you used around 1 million bloodpoints worth of items.
Devotion is nothing more than a hundreds place for your player level. I honestly don't understand why this is so hard for people to comprehend. Devotion/player level already has a reward, iridescent shards. There is nothing sacrificed by going up a devotion level like there is when you prestige something.

the only reason why legacy is good is because just a few people have it, if now everyone has it nobody would use it anymore it happened before with the event cosmetics and other skins they gave us for free in the past, legacy should stay as it is. also legacy is so outdated now with all the newer skins, it only guarantees a free ebony everytime you see one, and rewards elder players for grinding hard when it really was hard, how is that similar to other stuff they gave up during events and stuff? because is not, i dont like legacy and i think it should stay as it is. everyoen cried about event skins nobody use them anymore and wit hthis will happen the same.

As someone already mentioned, Devotion was not a thing when Legacy was obtainable. So someone who played back then might have a lower Devotion-Level than someone who started playing much later, despite having more hours overall AND being around when the game was new.
And then, Legacy would not be something special at all. This is probably the only reason to use the Cosmetics.
And while binding it to Devotion would somewhat make sense, in the end, Legacy would still not be special and it is not relevant how much Devotion someone has. Like, I have Devotion 21, so I would be able to get 7 full Sets of Legacy. Now I get several Characters. But in the Lobby, I might have a Legacy Dwight, but that guy who has "only" Devotion 3 also has a Legacy Dwight. So again - nothing special.

Exclusivity causes nothing but issues..as we can see

It still shows hes put in hours..and quite a few

I didn't play during that time to be able to get the legacy skins.
I played when the new bloodweb came out.
In my opinion, I really don't want them to give us an option to get legacy skins. It's a lack of respect to those who played before the new bloodweb system. Legacy skins are nothing too fancy, they just glow a bit, and they are a token of being "old" at the game.
If I were one of those players, I'd feel bad because then the meaning of those skins, would be lost.
For example, I was a closed beta player in paladins. I have special skins from that time, old skins. They are ugly, now you can't get them, but I cherish them because they are special to me. They remind me those moments.
I think that the same happens with this legacy skins.
I prefer if the legacy skins are kept that way forever.

Agreed. Just made a post about this last night. It would be nice to reward players for reaching high devotion levels.

Honestly getting a million points isnt hard if you are good at the game. When I was new it was really hard. Tbh I think this giving out exclusives is BS the events is iffy because console came later and they should have to earn the exclusives that happened before port amd anything after port they don't deserve and as for legacy. I think legacy should stick with the players who earned it, maybe give a new legacy to everyone after they grind or get a devotion level

Leave legacy alone. Those who have it earned it. I love the idea of making Devotion levels mean something, but make it something new.
